I ❤️ Star Trek, every incarnation of it. Period. Don't try to read any negativity in my posts - it's simply not there.

Betazoid oskoids, as seen in #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life"⬆️ and one season earlier in "Ménage à Troi"⬇️. The replicatied ones in the former episode have some added white spots. According to the script to the latter episode, oskoids are "something yellow with purple veins."

Scotty is drinking some scotch whisky in the Deep Space Station K-7 bar in #StarTrekTOS' "The Trouble With Tribbles". Scotty really doesn't believe that "It was invented by a little old lady from Leningrad." 😜 Scotch experts: what do you think about the color of the drink seen here?

In several crew quarter scenes in #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life"⬅️ ↘️, the replicator back wall is covered with a non-reflective dark material, so reflections of the filming equipment would not be seen. When Lwaxana uses the replicator, however, the regular reflective black back wall is seen.↗️

Sometimes, the ready room only appears as a brief glimpse from the bridge through the open door and there's no actual filming inside the set, like here in "Skin of Evil"➡️. In those cases, the regular decoration, seen on the table next to the door ("The Naked Now"⬅️, "11001001"⬆️) is sometimes missing.

Here are a few screenshots and a set plan, showing how the senior officers' quarters set was redressed as Dr. Timicin's guest quarters in #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life". As can be seen, he has an unusually large bedroom, twice the size of regular bedrooms seen on #TNG.

Chekov is drinking vodka in the K-7 bar in #StarTrekTOS' "The Trouble with Tribbles". This is the only time, so far, that straight vodka is seen being drunk in a #StarTrek episode or film.

In this shot in Timicin's guest quarters in #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life", the set border and some lighting equipment is visible ever so briefly at the top of the screenshot. Also see "Hi" to Michelle Forbes in her first #StarTrek role as Dr. Timicin's daughter Dara.

Here's an animation that better shows the rare occasion of a red alert indicator being visible in the crew / guest quarters, as seen in Dr. Timicin's ⬆️ and Lwaxana Troi's ⬇️ quarters in #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life". I understand the original post was rather confusing. 😅

Here's a shot of the USS Enterprise-D approaching Praxillus in the original ⬆️ and remastered ⬇️ versions of #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life". Notice how the flashing position lights on the back of the nacelles and the secondary hull are orange now and now longer washed out / white.

Two pieces of square pastel-y wall art are making their first appearance in the Enterprise-D crew + guest quarters in #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life". When all of the space art (created by Rick Sternbach) used in season 1-4 is removed for season 5, these pastel art pieces will be seen much more often.

Early in #StarTrekTOS' "The Trouble With Tribbles", Kirk is seen drinking some opaque (alcoholic) drink in the bar on Deep Space Station K-7. Could this be an anise-flavoured alcoholic drink like outo or raki?
November 22, 2025 at 7:00 PM
In #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life", some lighting and sound equipment is briefly visible when Lwaxana walks back and forth in front of the large mirror in her guest quarters aboard the USS Enterprise-D. 😅
November 22, 2025 at 6:00 PM
We can see the red alert lights in Timicin's ⬆️ and Lwaxana Troi's quarters in #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life"⬇️ but the source of these lights (we usually do not see red alert flashes in crew or guest quarters) is unknown. On the bridge, sickbay or in the ready room, the red light sources are evident.

When Spock and Dr. McCoy study the Tribbles in the medical lab in #StarTrekTOS' "The Trouble With Tribbles", they are fed some unknown food (definitely not blue quadrotriticale) to see how rapidly they procreate. I wonder what this is.
November 21, 2025 at 7:00 PM
When Lwaxana goes through her dresses in #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life"⬅️, looking for one to wear for Dr. Timicin, some of her dresses from earlier seasons are seen: We can see the dress she arrived in ↗️ and the one she wore for Picard in "Manhunt"➡️ and the one DaiMon Tog gave her in "Ménage à Troi"↘️.
November 21, 2025 at 6:01 PM
Here's a comparison of the blue quadrotriticale in #StarTrekTOS' "The Trouble With Tribbles"⬆️ and #StarTrekDS9's "Trials and Tribble-ations"⬇️. The futuristically blue grain got a lot more screentime in the #DS9 episode, even though it only appears in this one memorable shot of the Tribble bomb.
November 20, 2025 at 9:00 PM
There's a curious combination of familiar objects in Dr. Timicin's quarters in #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life": ⬆️: Inside one of the bowls that held the meal worms for the alien parasites in "Consipracy"➡️ is the blue Edo ball that got Wesley into lots of trouble on Rubicun III in "Justice"⬅️ . ;-)
November 20, 2025 at 8:01 PM
Before I talk about the food and drink seen in #StarTrekTOS' "The Trouble With Tribbles", I need to point out the blue quadrotriticale seen three times in the episode. On #StarTrek (and many other sci-fi series and films), futuristic food and beverages are usually blue. I 💙 blue gummi candy! :-)
November 20, 2025 at 7:00 PM
Doctor Crusher's labcoat has definitely become much wider between #StarTrekTNG season 4's "Remember Me"⬅️ and "Half a Life"➡️ to hide Gates McFadden's pregnancy. Also notice how the communicator combadge is now on the labcoat and not on the uniform (ever since "Galaxy's Child").
November 20, 2025 at 6:00 PM
Even though almost all of the black surfaces of the two side wall consoles (including the bridge replicators) were covered with non-reflective material in mid-season 3, the reflection of filming equipment is still visible behind Ensign Jae in this shot from #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life". 😅

Two Alice series androids serve both Harry Mudd and Pavel Chekov some wine-like beverage on planet Mudd in the #StarTrekTOS episode "I, Mudd". Both drink the wine from an ornate silver cup, gold-plated on the inside. We never see any food on planet Mudd.

At the time of the filming of #StarTrekTNG's "The Best of Both Worlds II"➡️ stock footage of the main viewscreen and the ops and conn stations was filmed with different actors / stand-ins. This early season 4 footage was later re-used in "Suddenly Human"↖️, "Half a Life"↙️ and other later episodes.
November 19, 2025 at 6:00 PM
It would have been awesome if we had got a better look at the label on the door in front of which Dr. Timicin is strategicaly standing in #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life", as this door was labeled "Head" and leads to the bridge toilet. Sadly, in all 7 season of #TNG, the label was never clearly legible.
November 18, 2025 at 8:00 PM
We do not know what they are drinking in #StarTrekTOS' "Mirror, Mirror" but Marlena Moreau and Kirk are sharing an alcoholic drink in the Captain's quarters in the episode. I like that we get another good look at the food slot and the glasses have been re-used since "The Conscience of the King".

Here are the left ↙️ the middle ⬆️ and the right ↘️ LCARS displays on the bridge tactical horseshoe on #StarTrekTNG. In earlier seasons ("A Matter of Honor"↗️, "The Child"↘️), the screws holding the displays were visible, later ("Half a Life"↖️, "The Nth Degree"↙️), the screws were hidden under black tape.
