I ❤️ Star Trek, every incarnation of it. Period. Don't try to read any negativity in my posts - it's simply not there.

I wonder if these glass-like pieces in a golden bowl in #StarTrekTOS' "Journey to Babel"⬅️ are supposed to be some kind of food or are purely decorative. They remind me of the river ice ➡️ eaten by the mermaids in the Czech film "Die Kleine Meerjungfrau", which I watched as a child.

The glasses seen at Dr. Timicin's bedside in #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life"⬆️ will later be used for the Calaman sherry that Data (suavely) serves Jenna D'Sora in "In Theory"⬇️. It's possible Lwaxana and Timicin where drinking the sherry as well.

The two Andorians in #StarTrekTOS' "Journey to Babel"⬅️ are drinking a yellow beverage that comes in a Kluk Kluk bottle ↗️ (seen on the show since "Charlie X") from colourful glasses that were originally introduced on Argelius II in "Wolf in the Fold"↘️.

A static LCARS display is barely visible on one of the engineering pool table screens in #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life". It says "Kaelon Ignition Project Test Results 4077". Even in this small and barely noticeable screen there is a 4077 (M*A*S*H) reference to honor David Ogden Stiers (Dr. Timicin).🤩

Here is footage of Praxillus going nova in the original ⬅️ and remastered ➡️ versions of #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life". As the footage of the Enterprise-D could not be located for the remastering, different film material needed to be used, explaining the ship's altered position in relation to the star.

In #StarTrekTOS' "Journey to Babel", all of the bottles and glasses purchased for season 1 and 2 of the show are put to good use during the Babel reception. Here, the orange bottle that was originally used in "Errand of Mercy" (and later in "Wolf in the Fold") is re-used.

Normally, the star curtain behind the USS Enterprise-D main viewscreen is illuminated in a way that makes space look really black, like here in #StarTrekTNG's "The Measure of a Man"⬅️. Only in a few episodes, the lighting is somehow off and space looks grey instead of black, like in "Pen Pals"➡️.

My #LEGO USS Enterprise-D arrived today (including the type 15 shuttlepod 🤩) Now I only need patience (and my new telescope 😅) until Christmas! I built my last own LEGO set around Christmas 1991 or 1992, this will be fun! :-)

Here's a comparison of the composite sensor playback 4077 graphic in the original version of #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life"⬆️ and the recreated graphic in the remastered version ⬇️. They really used every chance to include a 4077 (M*A*S*H reference) in the episode... ;-)

The Kaelon ships in #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life"⬅️ ↗️ have the same appearance as the Zibalian freighter Jovis which appeared in #StarTrekTNG's "The Most Toys"➡️ ↘️, only with a different hull hue. Learn more about the model(s) here:

In #StarTrekTOS' "Journey to Babel", Sarek's wife Amanda is sipping a red drink during the reception for the Babel ambassadors. The same bottle, owned by Zefram Cochrane, was originally introduced earlier in season 2 in "Metamorphosis". The familiar glasses go back all the way to season 1.

I'll be busy once January 15th arrives! Looking forward to #StarfleetAcademy! :-)

There have been numerous 4077 (M*A*S*H ↘️) references on #StarTrekTNG over the years ("The Naked Now"↗️) but of course, "Half a Life"↖️ simply HAD to have another one, as David Ogden Stiers appeared in the episode as Dr. Timicin. But notice the 4077 reference so very close to his face ↙️... 🧵 1/2

My Telly Award for my research work on #StarTrek Unification arrived today (much much faster than anticipated) and boy is it heavy! Big thanks to @daveblass.bsky.social who made all of this possible! 🖖
If you haven't done so already, do check out the short film!!!

One of my awesome year 5 students (Thank you Marie! 😊) drew this ⬅️ for our classroom some months ago, after I used one of my tribbles in Biology class. Today, I got my #StarTrekTOS #MasterReplicas Enterprise coffee cup with a Tribble inside ➡️ to go with it! I love it! 🤩

Seeing how similarly Captain Picard (#StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life"⬅️) and Constable Odo (#StarTrekDS9's "The Forsaken"➡️) hide from Lwaxana Troi when leaving a turbolift just makes me giggle. :-) Around two years lie between these two episodes.

Only two Saurian brandy bottles are seen on screen at the same time in #StarTrekTOS' "Journey to Babel", so only two Dickel Tennessee whisky bottles must have been modified for the show. In the episode, the beverage is drunk from colourful glasses first seen in "The Conscience of the King".

Here's a comparison of the composite sensor analysis 4077 in the original ⬅️ and remastered ➡️ versions of #StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life". The very noticeable 4077 is of course a M*A*S*H reference, as David Ogden Stiers (Dr. Timicin) played Major Charles Emerson Winchester III on the show.

Here's a comparison of the triangular side panel on this engineering console in season 3 ("Booby Trap"⬆️) and season 4 ("Half a Life"⬇️) in #StarTrekTNG. Notice how the screws are no longer visible as they are located under black tape. Also notice the unique season 3 red/blue light effect on Geordi.

The two copper (Ithenite) ambassadors drink a red beverage from a very tall bottle in #StarTrekTOS' "Journey to Babel". The glasses they use originally appeared on Deep Space Station K-7 in "The Trouble With Tribbles"↘️ but as JtB was aired first, audiences saw them here first on TV.

#StarTrekTNG's "Half a Life"➡️ features several new PADDs with a large display which were introduced in mid-season 4. These PADDs appeared in large numbers in the morgue earlier in "Night Terrors"↙️ but were first seen on screen in the ready room in "Galaxy's Child"↖️, held by Picard.

Of course, the replicator LCARS display backlights / gels were also sometimes changed (and not just the light sources / bulbs between seasons 2 and 3): here are the two versions seen in seasons 1 to 4 ("The Price"⬆️) and seasons 5 (beginning in "Conundrum") to 7 ("The Perfect Mate"⬇️).

When it comes to colourful dyed futuristic food, #StarTrekTOS' "Journey to Babel" really has it all: there are the familiar colourful (styrofoam?/marshmellow?) food cubes but also dyed melon slices and dyed apples and (and that is new) pears as well. This is the height of futuristic cuisine! :-)
December 1, 2025 at 7:01 PM
A large PADD with a black display and some LCARS buttons (interesting colours...) at the side was originally created for Dr. Ira Graves and used in #StarTrekTNG's "The Schizoid Man"↗️. The PADD is briefly seen again in "Final Mission"↘️ and appears on the engineering pool table in "Half a Life"⬅️.

Getting a little lost in the awesome rabbit hole of Neral's office with all its early 90s, Art Deco and "we especially built this as set decoration for #StarTrek" decor, while researching #StarTrekTNG's "Unification II". Filmed before part I, so I'll be writing about this one first, of course! :-)
