And now the transport minister is "minded to approve" a second runway at Gatwick.

The Planning Inspectorate recommended REFUSAL of this in November for various reasons including that the greenhouse gas emissions will affect our ability to meet carbon targets.

Cargo is forecast to grow only 4% in the next 20 years and Gatwick is a holiday airport - for them air cargo is an impediment, not a benefit.

Public transport targets are included in Gatwick's DCO application. Surely it should be the responsibility of Gatwick to ensure that the rail infrastructure is in place to meet the expansion project targets.
