I remember attending the virtual listening party for this album. It was wonderful.

Again, Project 2025 defines trans people as inherently "pornographic" - as in our physical beings. This has long been the plan in place to federally ban queer people from all public life. If this bill passes - or is issued by executive order - the end game for trans people in America will begin.

Does anyone else put on genre music when they read? I would like more suggestions if so!

Reading William Gibson's Neuromancer has been a surreal experience. Seeing nascent stereotypes of a genre inspired by this book is really appealing at this stage of my life where I'm solidly aware of being somewhere near the halfway point to whatever end will come. So anyway...what y'all reading?

Honestly the people always on about “We gotta get to Mars! We gotta leave Earth!” are just telling us they have never fixed, rehabilitated, grown, or really put their heart in anything and are not to be trusted.
Why would I want to go to Mars? They don’t even have cool bugs there.

Stop killing people. Stop fighting over imaginary lines on the land. Stop touching what is not yours. Stop attacking the bodies of people who never attacked your body. Stop killing people.

As a rule, this is the time of year NOT to engage with diets if you haven't already been planning to. It's winter (here anyway).
As diet culture is at its most pernicious at this time of year, let me just say, I like how I am. I like that I'm fat. I take pleasure in food and drink and will continue to do so without apology. And you can too, if that's what you actually want.

Super annoyed to log into Lemon8 this morning and find that I must have a TikTok account (which is legally prohibited where I am) due to TT buying L8. So much for that.

When I saw this tiny jumping spider, I immediately leaned down and told it, "hello there! I'm going to reach for my phone and take your picture if you let me." It appeared to pose and when I asked to see its back, it turned. Could be coincidence but the timing sure was good.

I'm thinking about Trans Day of Remembrance and how me not knowing anyone to remember is partly lucky, but could be indicative of whether everyone I know feels safe with me. So I'll be doing some reading and learning on how to be a better ally even as I'm learning to navigate my own identity.

I am disappointed with my country once again, but I am not willing to do the work of running for office/working on a candidate's street team/manning a phone bank etc. I am one person but I should find a way to contribute towards the betterment of society. Kindness only goes so far.

I couldn't agree more!
Can we make a joint agreement that if you see a bizarre, brain-rotted take on here, as we inevitably will, to not amplify it or... quote-skeet it whatsoever? Just simply let it fizzle into oblivion and keep our feeds nice and discourse free.

This is not a request

Today is International Octopus Day so this is a reminder that a Spanish way of saying someone looks out of place (or “like a fish out of water”) is como un pulpo en un garaje. It means “like an octopus in a garage”
