In Vietnam the U.S. did something called Operation Wandering Soul where they commissioned South Vietnamese radio stations to broadcast "ghost recordings" of dead Viet Cong as well as, on one tape, a recording of a little girl saying "Come home, daddy" in an attempt to increase desertions. Hellish.
