In the decade-plus I've been making my weekly videos, Rebecca was the only developer to have jumped into my comments to clear up a point I was unclear about—then she graciously agreed to be on the podcast. I found her to be as generous and kind as she was talented. It's truly tragic that she's gone.

New from me: More than 100 countries came together in the nation's capital in 1997 to sign an agreement banning the use of landmines. Now the Ottawa Treaty is at risk of unravelling, as several countries make plans to withdraw from it in the face of Russian aggression.

Noreen Young, a renowned Canadian puppeteer, has died.

Young, who was born in Ottawa and worked in puppetry for over 50 years, produced Under the Umbrella Tree from 1987 to 1993 and portrayed Gloria Gopher, one of the show's main characters.
