It is not about halting technological innovation. It is about acknowledging the humanity that literally fueled its rise. It is about the wholesale theft of those most vulnerable amongst us to enrich the already powerful.

Been seeing this going around. ABSOLUTELY ask what your country can do for you. That's the point of Government. To Serve the People. You should always be asking what your country is doing for you. It's purpose is to provide services and safety nets for all.

The Nazis fer shure weren't muffin topping out of a pair of track pants and a walmart t-shrit under-a-tac-vest. No sir. Had some pride in their appearance. That's no lie.

It was 9/11, for me. Why I look at this with distaste. Suddenly there were flags everywhere. And they were flown for one of two reasons. Out of fear, or Ignorance.

Fear that you'd be targeted as an other if you didn't.

Ignorance of what the flag stood for and what actions it needed to be honored.

"I always feared a strong centralized Federal Government and its threat of overreach. Ignoring our fundamental human rights, protected by the Constitution. ...but hey... I can wear whatever I want, and bully brown people so... I'm on board now."

The struggle is real. Deterrence + Employment is a balance. Healthy Workplaces exist because we insist.

Rewatching Mando/Book of Boba. S1E3 of Book. Man... this is really good storytelling, and great character development. This is good Star Wars. My 3rd rewatch and I'll say that, my previous gripes have been that Robert Rodriguez just went full "Once Upon A Time in Mos Espa", which hurt the vibe.

I love when they play with silence in TOS.

It is not that you shouldn't pray, if you are so inclined. It is that you are unwilling to give anything more of yourself for a cause, a belief, or a need.

“There is something deeply hypocritical about praying for a problem you are unwilling to resolve.”

Well... we got into it again over Pulaski.

There are characters I have weaknesses for and Pulaski is certainly one of them. So I went back to some episodes/scripts and found this example of Pulaski, near the end of her arc,

A conversation reminded of one of the most controversial topics in trek. Tuvix. So I went back to a meme I made on the topic:

Voyager. S1E5: The Phage. Got to this line and I was like, "Ok. Let's see what happens in like 30 more episodes that changes this."

I'm not saying, I'm just saying.

One thing cool about Star Wars is how every bootlicking sicophant of the empire get fahked in the end. They bust their ass to be the Empire's "best" or "favorite", and in the end, they all are carelessly tossed in the trash. Dedra Meero. Ventress. Maul. They all become casualties to a system they...

it DO be crazy to me that "first-world" countries be like, "Hey if you don't stop all that Genocide/Ethnic-Cleansing, we're going to recognize that Palestine, which existed way before Israel, is a real country (which it has always been) so cut IT out! Or else! ...we'll... acknowledge they exist!"

Babylon 5 S4E16, first watch through. Garibaldi is being very Gary. But we can blame the Omega squad for that. Part of me hopes the dude beats the brainwashing. Part of me hopes the writers didn't forget that he's brainwashed. Still wondering if this guy's going to end up being an fasch earth Simp

Anarchist be like: government bad!

It's not government that is inherently bad. The government should be of the people and for the people.

It's corruption.

Government is the way that we protect ourselves from the powerful and ensure everyone has mobility and opportunities.

There's a trope in fiction that I find cliche. Hackneyed and Contrived. Killing the "bad guys". PARTICULARLY after a redemption arc. I find it petty. A shallow avenue to catharsis.

Shen is fighting Kaladin right now and, I'm hoping we don't succum to that trope.

I love The Lorelei Signal in TAS

The entire point of Civilization, of laws, of organizing, is to make Life More Fair.

We invented Laws because we recognized that Life, The Universe, wasn't going to make guarantees for us. So WE were going to have to make our own.
