modern democratic politicians have been bred in a lab to be obsequious to power and subservient to Republicans and people like Chuck Shurmur and Hakeem Jefferies are the result- anyone who thinks they'll spontaneously unlearn these lessons if they somehow land back in power is comically naive

Words to think on, from my favorite show of all time.
"The enemy is fear. The enemy is ignorance. The enemy is the one who tells you that you must hate that which is different."

"I would rather do something and make a mistake than be frightened into doing nothing."

Flag-waving and patriotism are not the same thing. Can someone really love this country when they hate so many of the people in it?

Mind blown: Our entire web industry exists because CERN gave away Tim Berners-Lee's WWW invention for FREE in 1993! Every website we build today stems from that decision. Small business owners - your online presence is literally built on open-source foundations. Pretty cool, right?

This planet is run by crazy people. Remember what they have to do to get where they are. Their perspective is so narrow, so...brief. A few years. In the best of them a few decades. They care only about the time they are in power.

From what I see, the Democratic party is having problems reaching people because they have betrayed the most basic tenent of the party - to represent people. Instead, they vote for corporate interests, fail on social concerns, and choose seniority over democracy. These things have broken our trust.

Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of the dot on scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner of the dot. How frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds.

Politicians are a subway train not a taxi — get on one that's taking you in the right direction because you're going to be waiting forever if you're waiting for one that will take you right to your front door.

"A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they will never sit in"
We live in an age of society where old men are chopping down saplings to whittle canes they won't even be alive to benefit from, and they don't care what it means for anyone else.

They go off on a few tangents, but this is basically 20 minutes slagging off Microsoft/Windows, ending in both agreeing it's time to try Linux full-time again.

Windows 11 is a punchline on several more tech channels.

Are Microsoft even aware of the sentiments from actual users/experts these days?
