Got the OCD as a maladaptive coping mechanism for a bunch of other stuff.

... Waiting for the pharmacy people to do the paperwork so I can order the meds that come in a blunt pre-loaded syringe is not my idea of a good time

Also, I should note that it's so hot here in Canberra right now that the dog who is partially solar powered does not want to be outside in the sun.

He also forgave me pretty quickly for the bath.

Please mama, if I do a very good sit you won't make me go in the bath?

Our mastiff can recognise the sound of my husband's most commonly ridden motorbike from 300m away, around two corners.

My husband is making me spiced buns with the spiced bun mix* my boss got me a few years back. Him good human.

* They're only hot cross buns** if they've got the weird flavourless white design on.

** I have a bag and a half of supermarket hot cross buns in the freezer. That's five days of breakfast

Fucking payroll tax nexus provisions!

... Today's example is not this _interesting_ but in Australia, if you normally work in the ACT, your employer pays payroll tax in the ACT. If you work in a different state (eg in QLD) for a day then that month payroll tax is based on where you live.

If you write a story on an oven-baked flatbread, it's a PITA to read.

Added a couple of strawberries and used the caramelised fig balsamic vinegar I brought back from NZ instead of the lemon juice and honey. Totally worth it. There's one apricot left on the tree and that's it for this season.

Apricot season and a tree in a pot means I get to have fresh apricots (washed and with icky bits cut off) quartered, sprinkled with lemon juice (from the tree out the back), and drizzled with honey (harvested 25km away) for dessert tonight.

I have been cleaning out my office this year end break. Amongst other things, that means asking my husband to do the things in the rest of the house that involve things I stashed in there because asking is hard. Like hanging this, which now lives on the inside of the toilet door:

This week at work, I've had to explain to someone who works in an IT field that using decimal points in a file name can sometimes lead to computers deciding that everything after the decimal point is the file type.

And that this caused the accounting system to treat the files as potential threats.

I hate this time of year so much. I'm so tired and so emotionally tired and I just want the world to stop so I can get off but I have to do things, organise things and turn up and be Jolly. So I'm just going to keep on swimming and eventually this will pass and I'll be able to pretend to be me again

I'm getting really tired of explaining to people in secured environments that I need them to attach the authorisation for their travel reimbursement because I'm not in that secured environment so I can't just follow the link to access the secured systems and download it for myself!

Walking the dog this evening, and no platypus sightings *sigh*

BUT: four wombats! FOUR!!! And a rakali!

(Photos are of two teenage wombats and one adult female; the adult male was spotted cos he ran away through the shrubs while I was recording a frog going off for FrogID)
