We're thrilledthat FRESHFARM's incentive programs have been spotlighted alongside leading nutrition experts in this @civileats.com story. Our approach has always been about empowerment and choice, helping SNAP participants access fresh, nutritious foods directly from local farmers and producers.
Some argue that the program should remain a simple source of grocery dollars for Americans struggling to feed their families, while others say food and beverages associated with chronic disease risk should be eliminated from SNAP.
Bans on Soda and Candy in SNAP Are Back on the Table, and They’re Still Controversial
MAHA backers are pushing for restrictions on unhealthy foods within SNAP, but experts disagree on whether the bans would make anyone healthier.

Industrial farms are particularly vulnerable to foodborne illnesses that can sicken thousands of consumers & disrupt supply chains.

#Protip: A short food chain is safer! Eating seasonally/ locally reduces dependency on industrial farms & strengthens local food systems! See you at market?

This is reason #7937 to shop locally! A short food supply chain is a safe food supply chain. When you purchase food grown, raised, and made by people you know, you can ask the farmers what they to keep their food safe, something you can't do supermarket! 🥕
