Building a future where 2SLGBTQ+ folks have the safety and resources to thrive in Oklahoma and everywhere we call home. www.freedomoklahoma.org
Movement is natural, land is sacred, borders are arbitrary, no one is illegal on stolen land, and Indigenous People have outlived every empire and imperial project. Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day!

Today we celebrate the caretakers of this land, the intentional survival of tribal nations and tribal culture, and Indigenous People.

This land called Oklahoma is home to 39 tribal nations, some who have always been on this land and some who came by violent forced removal from their homelands.

This month, may we remember our collective commitment to keep one another safe & what it means to build a future where every 2SLGBTQ+ person has the safety to thrive.

It happens because people make decisions that are sometimes very impulsive and of the moment, but those moments are cumulative realities.” We each have a responsibility, not just a role, in our community history.

Freedom Oklahoma will continue to do that regardless of where Ryan Walters will be.

We survive, our communities survive, because folks who were considered "too left" fought hard for us to be here today. We must keep that fight in order to survive, especially at a time when our elected officials might not be pulling their political weight.

We know how to push back against Walters here, now he's going to union bust nationally. It's time for folks to check in to states, groups, and leaders that might be "too left".
September 26, 2025 at 6:41 PM
And politicians sure as hell won't make us believe caring for one another is illegal.

If you haven't checked out the documentary, Las Sandinistas, you should.
September 24, 2025 at 11:02 PM
Just because elected officials say it is illegal to exist doesn't make it true. This moment in time is asking that we are rooted in each other. Its asking us to take care of one another, because we need one another.

No one is illegal on stolen land.

Our most vulnerable populations have been under fascist rule far before today. Which means we should be following their lead. We should be following the lead of marginalized communities in our rural areas and protecting each other.

We see this as creating a watch list for trans folks, revoking citizenship for writing and speaking, the criminalization of lack of access to healthcare, forcing moments of silence for a man who sewed division by speaking against those who didn’t look or live like him.

They redistributed the land of the Somoza regime to create communal and individual farms that helped ensure food security.

Right now, in America, we are watching the U.S. empire begin to turn on itself as it loses control of the world.

They established a revolutionary government leading to expanded access to public education at all levels, infant mortality reduced by half during the Sandinista Revolution and creating “mother houses” for birthing and prenatal care which was crucial for folks in rural areas.
September 24, 2025 at 11:00 PM
This revolution was to stop the U.S.-backed Somoza Debayle Dictatorship.

One that's been on my mind for a little bit is ¡Las Sandinistas!

It’s a documentary about the Nicaraguan Revolution, or the Sandinista Revolution. It tells about the women that lead – mothers, lawyers, teachers, sisters, journalist and more.

Research to sustain and extend a full life, access to life saving medications like PrEP, and get people the support they need to stay with care. As the HIV community continues to grow older, these services become more urgent for the quality of life as people age.

I don't know about you, but I think HIV prevention is needed. Especially in a place like Oklahoma being Top 10 in the nation for Highest Rural HIV cases.

That money funds our local health departments.
