We survive, our communities survive, because folks who were considered "too left" fought hard for us to be here today. We must keep that fight in order to survive, especially at a time when our elected officials might not be pulling their political weight.

We know how to push back against Walters here, now he's going to union bust nationally. It's time for folks to check in to states, groups, and leaders that might be "too left".

There is a lot going on right now and Ryan Walters not being over our students directly is good, in this moment. But where is he going? What does it mean for the state, the nation, for our fight?

I don't know about you, but I think HIV prevention is needed. Especially in a place like Oklahoma being Top 10 in the nation for Highest Rural HIV cases.

Each year about 500,000 people are diagnosed with HIV. Did you know 54% of people living with HIV in the US are over 50 years or older?
Right now the congress is looking to cut well over $2 BILLION in HIV prevention funding.

We have already seen some folks attempt to use this tragedy to try and further target transgender people.

These are not just public spaces but spaces that are supposed to be sacred, supposed to be safe. But those in power have traded our safety for their personal political gain.

This year, let alone the last 4 years, haven't been easy....but boi-o-boi has there been growth.
There has been an intentional shift in action as we began the Peoples Hearings, Digital Support groups, Legislative Trackers and so much more.

A little while back Councilor Jobeth asked us to come out and table for another round of Tenants Know Your Rights training. It was nice to be in that room learning and sharing knowledge with neighbors.

I'm always grateful to share space with and learn from leaders across the country working towards HIV modernization. It was exciting to see so much of this year's programming be HIV-focused.
