#OTD 1986 – Tacoma native Brent Goulet scores 107th goal of his career, a collegiate record, in Warner Pacific College’s 3-0 win over Pacific (Ore.). Goulet surpasses the 106 of Erskine’s Sam McGinty, set in 1970. He finishes with 108.

#OTD 2004 – Everett's Chris Henderson is named MLS Humanitarian of the Year for his extensive charitable work with Colorado Rapids and his own Chris Henderson Foundation, a charitable organization that grants to aid underprivileged kids.

Donating blood is one of those unselfish acts we do to help another in dire need. Today I gave again, alongside neighbors at a mobile site, and the Bloodworks NW team took great care of us. It took just over a half-hour. Please consider making a donation.

#OTD 2009 – It was a safe bet a Sounder would win MLS Newcomer of the Year. Seattle’s Fredy Montero indeed does, after scoring 12 goals in inaugural season. Montero’s teammates, Freddie Ljungberg & Kasey Keller were other finalists for award.

#OTD 1984 – Booth Gardner, founder and coach of Tacoma Cozars and past owner of pro franchises, is elected 19th Governor of Washington. Gardner, 48, defeats incumbent John Spellman by 56%. Gardner first owned ASL Tacoma Tides before becoming part owner of NASL Colorado Caribous.

#OTD 1979 – Bruce Raney figures in all 3 goals as Seattle Pacific regains Sounders Cup by beating Washington 3-1 at Memorial. Raney’s second goal, an intercepted back pass, proves to be the winner in 51st minute. He scores game’s first goal and is brought down to set-up late pk.
