The Nobel Peace Prize becoming so prestigious that wars are fought over a head of state coveting it is some real monkey paw stuff for Alfred Nobel.

Not quite sure if DMs are a thing and currently have the fear that at-ing someone is just, like publishing a public post directed at that person. I'll look up the answer in a bit, but for the moment I'm gonna ponder the UX of it all 😌😅

The day 1 learning of being an "AI Product Manager" is that creating guardrails is the most important part of the gig, so I am baffled if anyone says "oh no, Grok is just creating that child porn and there's just nothing we can do!" Grok can create these images because its owners allow it. End of.

The three remaining hunger strikers have been convicted of nothing. Yet with astonishing cruelty, ministers refuse to listen to their reasonable demands, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

The US cranking up imperialism again and some folk admiring pre-WW2 days... Oh my, the poor Brexit beaten Brits just fingers-crossing because the natural continuation of this yay empire history stuff is they get back the States, now with added globo mega corps 🥳

I had my first day at a new job I picked cause of the people culture and..... so far everyone I've met has been lovely. So, that's delightfully unexpected, I'm so used to a twist popping up and ruining all my "can I just, y'know, do good work?" dreams. ☺️

Oh... enshittification or harsh resource reality... I tried to do a live stream of me singing some songs as a bit of a New Years connection vibe and sure it says my account doesn't qualify for that feature at this time. I assume my livestream powers will be returned when they want content again 😭😭

If, like me, you did NOT get the ONE thing you wanted from Santy (a 95-year-old bachelor farmer with plenty land and a bad cough), treat yourself to a print from an Irish doodler instead - big discounts across the shop, including on bundles, so go on. Go on go on go ON.

Won't somebody please think of all the fish actors that lost out in the remake of The Little Mermaid? Under the Sea was not built as a Sebastian only vehicle. I demand Disney address this issue! So many diverse fish voices silenced. #Justice #LittleMermaidFishBlocking #Disney

On reflection, my BlueSky experience this year has been very pleasant. It's been a place where I can have micro chats with folks and like anyone sharing their art, their pets, their discoveries etc. I've had very little need to argue with folk & really nothing has annoyed me. Such contrast elsewhere

It just dawned on me that #Pluribus is another spin on that Rick & Morty episode where Rick dates the planet populated by that hive mind. Just with a less hedonistic main character 😁 Good stuff ☺️

I always feel so awkward when things are going well for me during a hospital visit and someone in a nearby cubicle is having a bad time. Like, I know I can't help, but I still have the sense of being a useless observer with the urge to help. Maybe I can cheerlead the doctors and nurses? #thoughts 😄

Last night I tried to watch some new Christmas heist movie on Netflix. A romcom was requested, this was served, no research done. Wow... mother dying of cancer & a dad estranged from his young kid... kinda feel they missed out on the nonsense joy of it all. Like, some sad, yes, but cancer ward sad..

So this liquid glass UI nonsense has made all the apps I use worse. And basic functionality is harder to see on my phone. I got suckered into it because I had to buy a new watch, which wouldn't sync unless I upgraded... but somehow everything is glitchy and worse. #enshitification ? #liquidGlass

A random search has led me down the path of rooting out old harddrives and wow... listening to the forgotten music I recorded from my teens up to my mid-20s was cringeworthy, humbling and honestly a source of joy as I saw my sensibilities and focus change. I may one day record a teen angst EP. 😅

It's so hard to listen to a podcast you like and hear them lean hard on something that feels factually incorrect. David McWilliam saying no TDs come from the tech sector, yet didn't Eoin Hayes have that whole Palantir debacle this time last year?

A few online orders or in-store book purchases would be a nice way to support Books Upstairs after this horrible attack. Who does this? To an independent book shop?
