Looking up from the bottom of the viewing tower. It's multiple storeys tall. Looking straight down from the top of the viewing tower. As all the walking surfaces are grilles, one can literally see the ground, several storeys down. (And also my shoes.) The view due south from the tower at Point Pelée. It is well over the tree canopy. The very tip of the beach can be seen receding into the distance. A map of the tip of southwestern Ontario and some surrounding US geography. It is centered on Point Pelée--located below the 42nd parallel--an unexpectedly southerly bit of Canada.

I was going to say, with respect, that ranch-flavoured yoghurt would have been first.

Meant to post this yesterday.

This man has himself a coffee in hand on some lectures; adequately doctored, it soothes the throat and makes it easier to fill large lecture halls with my unassisted voice for hours on end.

There's a lot of text, and none of it really matters. There's a poem in ostensibly old French, annotated to the nth degree by "historical scholars". If that poem is read in French by a sufficiently Frenchy person, you get the transliterated "hey diddle diddle" child's poem. The humour, she is multi-layered.
