Has nobody talked about Skopje '83 yet?

Because I didn't know I needed a Macedonian post-apocalyptic cel-shaded fully- coop survival-shooter-roguelike until I saw it.

And maybe you do too. (Yeah, I'll be streaming that. You know it.)

I'm pretty staunchly a fan of indie games.

But I did have room for GTA, and I think my time in GTA Online speaks for itself (perhaps shamefully).

That said, I was looking forward to GTA VI, and the missus and I were going to do such hijinx.

Not anymore. This shop is pro-union, you dinks.

Now, I don't normally go back to LinkedIn, let alone at nearly 4 AM. And I don't normally post memes, let alone memes I found off LinkedIn.

And yet.

Hey, more of that "the Night Lands" coming up this Sunday. Our timezone flip is sorted out so we're back at the same time again.

2 PM EST. Same link as always. And one day, good lord, I'll have something that isn't that creepy hero clicks fella to show you.
November 2, 2025 at 8:02 AM
I switched over to "Bounty Star" recently, and many, many hours passed before I realized what happened. (It being a down term for me is helpful for these shenanigans!)

But listen, it wasn't because of the gameplay. That's fine.
It's simply because the characters actually seem human.

Well, it's 2025 and my first go at splitscreen in yeaa... decades... was so bad we went and got a second copy to try it less, ah, splitty-screeny.

First Dwarf, this week, at your favourite twitch show. IT IS YOUR FAVOURITE. (7 PM EST, with timezone weirdness this week.)

Sunday, more "The Night Land", live. 2 PM EST.

I am not an AI. I am a middle-aged sonnofabitch tired of the world and too stubborn to go without a cuss barrage. Up yours.

Hope you like the reading though. I'm reading it for whoever shows up... and maybe myself too.

I am a grown-ass man, a person of some degree of accomplishment (supposing you squint hard enough) and I should really know better than to try to engage any numpty on the Steam fora.

And yet I keep slapping myself in the face with that specific fish.

Sunday's coming up, and with it a new book and, ideally, a much more serious approach in reading it.

"The Night Lands," by William Hope Hodgson. (I will say the first chapter or two are really starchy, but stick with it. The payoff comes swiftly enough.)

François, can you describe Alberta in one word?

Yes. I'll do one better, I'll describe it with no words.
October 14, 2025 at 9:55 PM
This little group of Voyageurs is off... haha, travelling.

I'm off to prove to a disparate group of Albertans that Quebec is real and dead sexy. Or, at a minimum, this specific Quebecois fellow is.

Don't steal my stuff while I'm gone, okay? Thanks!

I can say I've played and streamed a bit, and I'm equal parts being hugged by EYE Divine Cybermancy references, bewildered by the game world, and being thrashed by it.

And I'll get back to it later over the next day or two, too.

Well, ho-lee-cow, it has been almost exactly a year and we're finishing up "Journey to the West" this Sunday. That has been a very figurative journey.

I've got something short-ish queued up to follow, "The Nightlands," and then what? I don't know! Maybe you do?
October 5, 2025 at 7:30 AM
I've managed to bludgeon some buddies into "Jumping Jazz Cats" this eve (7 PM, EST) which promises to be both absolutely macho and absolutely... uhh... I don't even know now, I'm not supposed to know this many words.

Sunday: Storytime again (we're so close to the end!)
Tuesday - However long it takes: Little Kitty Big City. Sleep on warm laundry, become a budding icthyologist.

Well, you're still here, because you're reading this. I'm still here, because I'm writing this.

Yes, I'm smug. It's like the fourth time I can personally remember. I'll be just as smug when the next "prophet" tells us all in SimulBrainCast that it's coming real soon, for realsies this time.

Do you like being atop a several storey tower made only of open gratings?

But the view of the one little tiny snippet of Canada at sub-42 latitude was nice. Bit of a climb though.

7 days, 2,000 km, a trunkload of cheese, the last 800 km in one go. Relatively few old couple squabbles. That woman got so much endurance for my shit.

And not ten minutes after dropping off the rented car some guy comes looking for a fight. WELCOME BACK TO OTTAWA, FRANÇOIS.
September 24, 2025 at 2:49 AM
Very likely the missus has covered it in greater detail, but we'll be away from these keyboards for a week, starting tomorrow.

I will miss you terribly during that time.
September 16, 2025 at 11:28 AM
This guy was just telling you a few weeks ago how he's not a fan of the horror genre. But, he must admit, he loves a jumpscare. Loves it. Only could tolerate the windup in a videogame, though.

Enough third person.

I guess it's more of a "startlement" than actually being scared, whatever.

Please don't plagiarize your code.

I just spent four hours this morning writing an elaborate document detailing the precise nature of a student's cheating, complete with appendices and annotations.

Four *unpaid* hours. Appendices.

I'll do it again if I must, too.

The Expedition is on pause, and apologies for that.

The Kerensky DLC drops tomorrow for Mechwarrior 5 Mercenaries. I'm going to organically have a team as ready for it as possible, and that started today.

Demon Core LLC, est. 3035, FRR loyalists all, have 15 years of game time to get ready.
September 3, 2025 at 2:37 AM
So, by the way, by the by, just kinda sayin', I've been trying to do Expedition 33 on the stream thing.

I'm playing it in French because the characters are lipsynched to French and it bugs me like whoah to see an English overdub. (Plus I speak French, so, y'know...) But okay, English subtitles.
August 29, 2025 at 7:34 PM
I am not a fan of the horror genre, broadly speaking, but I know a few folk who are.

And to you say there's this thing which is made locally, and maybe it's your jam.
