Hello world.

The missus is out for a week's vacation and a month of stress. She's enjoyed the reading enough that I've elected to pause it for her return.

Doing a special session of "The Axis Unseen" instead. 2 PM EST. twitch.tv/fdejeuner

I seriously gotta replace that image.

Dear Diary: What's the most cynical thing you can think of?

How about Bell Canada putting corporate branding on a mental health day? Is that cynical enough?

At the end of the lecture in C programming, a student looked me in the eye and said, "So I'll *C* you later."

And I was all like, "hey! Which one of us is the dad here! I'll be making the dad jokes in this class, thank you very much!"

Dear diary, I got out-dadded in my own lecture today.

Fired up "The Axis Unseen" for online shenanigans. What an odd game! Why did I wait this long?

It's a bit visually simplistic but the mood and the *tension* are amazing. Mmh! Chef's kiss!

(It's about hunting supernatural critters with little more than a bow and scarce few arrows. They hunt back.)

Hey look, the world is shitty.

For Reasons, this Sunday (2 PM Eastern) I'm just gonna do My Voice Zoo instead of the usual reading. It will be two hours of the madness of hearing me voice animals.

We will probably all go insane together. You are invited and welcome.

So this happened, and rather than take up ten bisks to recount it, I'll just screenshot my recounting in Steam. I blurred our names only because we use different Steam names and I don't want to confuse things.

Those of you who know us know who we are.

I had some long-winded ramble about the amusing side of what happened, but we'll say simply "I did a bunch of slipping and falling in today's snowstorm." I did not do serious injury to myself, but I am extensively bruised.

Weirdly, quite exhausted from it, and I'm about to sleep off the evening.

First lecture in a few hours, after four months off. I've almost forgotten what it's like.

And it's easily one of the most dull lectures I've ever been scheduled to give.

I think I'm watching some AI psychosis form in real time. These were all taken from today in a Discord server I'm on. Colours imply different "speakers" (there's one other one that was relevant).

I had borrowed the missus' fingerless gloves and appeared on the cusp of her space, wearing aught else but pants (trousers to my UK friends).
"Loogit me, I'm Danzig!" I declared, flexin'.

She looked at me suspiciously for a moment.

The Night Land is finished! "Eliza" by Barry Pain is next. I'm told it's a light comedy, and I welcome the change of pace from what we finished doing.

And my thanks to Lobster Aunt who compiled a report on the text:

A lot of y'all on my feed are going "just make art!" And I've taken that to heart.

In 30 minutes, I'm gonna try making some "Gruppe Peet" livery for a car or two in Wreckfest 2, using their livery-creation tools, on stream no less.

I started this this morning.

I'm kinda doing this for me, but I'd dig it you showed up at least briefly to wave your respective flag.

Doin' the entirety of Bandits: Phoenix Rising in one sitting, starting in... 20 minutes from this post. Why? Mostly "why not?"

It's gonna be New Year's, and on that day I'm'a go through Bandits: Phoenix Rising in one sitting.

Game's over 20 years old. Still informed some of my decisions about what a good-ass voice actor can do for your game. Rewdalf's actor elevates this thing so hard.

(And it will be an LP on SA after.)

I don't know exactly when it came in as the missus and I hibernated from about the 23rd of this month onwards. But it did come in!

Merry Newyearmas, @ingridblythe.bsky.social and thank you. Roundy Pillowhead is looking especially roundy and pillowheady in your drawing.

In my brief journey showing @angeloslh.bsky.social the seedier side of my LinkedIn feed, we paused on one of the worst things, one of these linefeed-filled freeform "inspirational" posts.

Turns out it's "broetry".

"Hey, this thing has arugula on it," I said.
"In the UK, they call it 'rocket'" she answered.
"So that's why it tastes good. Cool name. And... that's why I like that vegetable cocktail V8 so much! It's named after a big honkin' engine!"

She looked at me, dubious.
December 27, 2025 at 7:13 PM
Bout half an hour from this time, I plan on mainlining a handful of light-hearted games 'til something happens. I don't know what. I really don't.

(Also maybe Bandits: Phoenix Rising, if the whimsy is there.) Drop by and offer bad advice!

Take two. Listen, switching from Firefox to Librewolf came with some growing paints, but who has two thumbs and doesn't need to prune AI out of his browser?

Yeah, this guy. Also merry Quebecois crimmus.

Hello my general utility-usin' folks. New teaching contract is spinning up and I will need to install me up a fresh email client.

It needs to work with an Outlook server, I don't want it "offering help" and I otherwise need no bells and whistles. Your input is welcome and appreciated.
December 18, 2025 at 6:49 AM
The shift from Firefox to Librewolf is pretty seamless. Firefox has an ability to export your bookmarks as HTML, your passwords as a csv, both of which can be imported.

You do need to dig through a menu or two, mind you.

I was having a chat with a Steam buddy of mine, who noted my curator list as "cars and mechs". And I was like, "Nooooooo! I am more than that!"

Steam's summary says otherwise.
