procedural generation is about the most pure type of digital art i can think of. it would not be possible in any other context but computers.
the way you painstakingly build all these components, structure your code so it generates what you want just right, based on meticulously assembled rules…

Here we go, something I've been drafting for a long, long time: how the US-centric approach to video games and their history / culture basically gaslights us who come from other realities:

Decades ago, Fernanda Montenegro missed out on an Oscar - and Brazil never forgot the snub.

Now, her daughter, Fernanda Torres, could have a chance to win a golden statuette with a role in "I'm Still Here," a film that has sparked deep soul-searching.

my interview and review of Mouthwashing is probably the best piece i’ve written in a few years. here’s a gift link.

the game is a message to “certain people in the games industry. I hope they see themselves in it.

And I hope it hurts. I hope it hurts, hurts, hurts.”

Review | ‘Mouthwashing’: A repugnant, tragic play that wants to hurt you
‘Mouthwashing,’ a brief but brutal video game from studio Wrong Organ, is a sci-fi horror fable about men swaddled in narcissistic delusions.

I got curious enough to take the data from that video and plot this. It's as you said, the trend doesn't change much except for the actual percentages going up from ~10% to ~25% for female protagonists and ~2% to ~7% for LGBTQ+ (comparing post 2014, as the original graph).
