The confusion and conflation of ‘generative ai that is built on stolen artwork’ and ‘machine learning, character behaviour modelling and proc gen’ is intentional on the part of the grifters peddling the former. They benefit from murkiness of classification, because the latter predates their bollocks

In conclusion, your games are laiden with unoptimised work and you are footing the bill in hardware, download data and, most tragic of all, you are robbed of some truely breathtaking experiences because all the resources needed have been hogged by absolutely nothing.

This hasn't been a priority of any AAA studios for a long while and honestly it is you the end user who is footing the bill.

The vast majority of games push your hardware through inefficiency rather than spectacle or quality.

You can do a whole lot more with current pcs then you get.
Please 🙏. I don’t even care about the RAM shortage I just think it would be cool to have my game optimized to play on an oldish PC.

Get outta here with this normalization bullshit.

damning thread on how the IDF's propaganda arm is scraping 3D assets intended for things like games, films, or architectural purposes and kitbashing together supposed hamas bunkers and iranian nuclear sites. a genocide campaign propped up in part by someone's nephew who got too into blender.
NEW: Since October 2023, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit has released dozens of 3D animations illustrating alleged Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iranian sites

The style is now unmistakable: satellite zoom-ins, black & white wireframes, and red-textured houses - a new visual language of war

I get tired of repeating myself, but fictional depictions of crimes are not the same as the real crimes and don't mean you approve of those crimes.
Also WTF is this thing with "no depictions of dangerous stunts". Are action games/movies also too dangerous now?
Do NOT believe the misinfo going around

There absolutely have been MASSIVE TOS updates

Most notably:

1) Specifying no FICTIONAL noncon
2) No "dangerous" kink
3) No DISCUSSING self harm, suicide, or substance abuse unless its "educational"

So what can we DO about it?

The playbook is Palestine. Always been. If the fascists can convince you to look away, to stay quiet, to weigh the odds, to hesitate on speaking up -- about literal genocide -- the fascists can get away with anything.

All they have to do is lie loudly, retract quietly, and do crimes relentlessly.
