Again, the man with the single greatest access to real and true information in the history of the world
"I spoke to the governor, she was very nice," Trump said. "But I said, 'Well wait a minute, am I watching things on television that are different from what's happening? My people tell me different.'"

Almost ... a glimmer ... "am I in an anti-reality bubble populated by sycophants?" ... and gone.
Trump seems to back off Portland military plan: 'Am I watching things on television that are different from what's happening?'
President Trump had said he will send troops to Portland to protect U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facilities, which he said were "under attack."

for years, this thing was like my video from The Ring, where I had to get other people to watch it in order for me to stay alive

By the way, you don't have to watch murder videos, and there is a real cost to all the "brutal voyeurism" the internet inflicts on us, as I wrote (and talked with @henryhenryhenry.com about) in 2023. drewharwell.com/stories/what...

So I *thought* it would be apparent I learned those portuguese phrases because we talk to my cat a lot.

It turns out, in a tragic but predictable error, "gatinha" both means "little cat" and "cute woman." So when I said "a fat little cat! how pretty, how cute, how naughty," it did not read well

I'm a professor at the flagship university for the fourth whitest state in the US. Over 80% of our students are white.

The biggest barrier to access here is that due to lack of state funding, we have top 10 highest tuition per capita of public unis in the country.

We also have a food pantry.
oh, we have some straightforward gutter racism. “the blacks and the browns are the reason white people can’t get ahead” www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...

The truth is that higher education in the United States should be free and accessible, and people like Andreessen are the reason it isn't.

The truth is that people like Andreessen are advocating for segregation and discrimination for ideological reasons, not because it's fair for any students.

Curious how this stacks up with others: generally my experience has been on the left that the organizers/activists who have accomplished the most are also the least overconfident, and the opposite is the case on the right. That jive with what y'all see?

Yeah. Michael Fields is probably the most successful right wing organizer in Colorado of late, and he has all the confidence of a man who has the richest person in the state bankrolling his initiatives. Organizers on the left with experience see how much work it takes to win w/o one of those guys.

I know a lot of folks like this account. But this is a wild, and unhelpful, exaggeration--it's a resistance version of sean spicer. It veers into #resistanceporn and trades accuracy for clout, like other "blue maga" grifters on here. Pls consider finding other sources of inspiration/news/motivation
