I'm running a writing retreat and encouraging the participants to write rubbish.
To write well you first have to write badly.
Get something down on paper. The first draft won't be very good but then you can improve it.
Stop aiming for a perfect first draft. Give yourself permission to write rubbish

This is a huge problem for mental health nursing, particularly in inpatient environments.
Access to regular reflective space- for support & critical thinking, is a core part of good care. Most people would agree with this. BUT it only happens where it's built in to standard working practice. As soon as it becomes an add-on, "nice to have if there's time", it ends up being de-prioritised.
