I honestly do not understand who is helped by this change. The new season functionally runs summer to spring. It includes the hottest months and the coldest months, but skips the months of relatively nice weather. (May-June.) Like what. Why.

They shouldn’t have started it in July 2026.

Yeah this is gonna be, in the absolute best-case scenario, a logistical nightmare.

I’m not saying it can’t be made to work. It can be done.

But I don’t see a world where the benefits outweigh the costs.

Plus, if we have to break for the winter, that’s gonna end up with more midweek matches.
