We willen toch allemaal eten op ons bord dat eerlijk, duurzaam en gezond is?🍽️

✏️Ons huidige voedselsysteem biedt die keuze vaak niet. 29 oktober is een kans om daar verandering in te brengen!

It's time to put an end to this corporate takeover of our oceans.

We’re demanding a Mediterranean-wide moratorium on seabass and seabream farming.

Here's why seabass farming is a problem:
➡️ Farmed seabass consumes huge amounts of wild fish as feed
➡️ Diverts food from communities who rely on fish for nutrition & income
➡️ Destroys vital marine ecosystems like seagrass meadows
➡️ Propped up by EU funding despite local resistance

Seabass & seabream farming in the Mediterranean relies on a global chain of exploitation.

Each year, millions of wild fish are caught off the coasts of West Africa, ground into fishmeal and oil, and shipped to intensive farms in the Mediterranean to feed carnivorous fish like seabass & bream. (2/5)

What’s hiding behind your seabass dinner?

Seabass and seabream farming in the Mediterranean is often marketed as ‘sustainable’. But the truth is — it’s harming oceans, robbing communities, and threatening food security across the world.

📢 Today we launch Ocean Takeover, a new report revealed at the UN Ocean Conference in Nice.

Mediterranean seabass & seabream farming is NOT the sustainable solution it claims to be — it’s driving food injustice & destroying critical ocean ecosystems.
