🤝We fully support these local initiatives in having their demands taken seriously. Current biogas targets are unrealistic to achieve in a sustainable way and risk locking us into dependence on big livestock factories.

❌ Turning manure into biogas doesn’t eliminate enteric emissions from animals, which are actually much higher (48%) than emissions from manure (only 17%) itself.

🗣️ Give local communities a real voice at the decision-making tables where policies and biogas development plans are made.

🐄 A large share of biogas is produced from manure - and the industry expects this will contribute to a third of total EU biomethane production by 2030. Let’s not depend on industrial animal factories - not for our food ánd not for our energy.
