I had a work management training course which had a slide dedicated to a diagram of L Ron Hubbard's model of the reactive and analytical minds. I think the trainer had just googled up a bunch of random diagrams and put them on slides.

Immigration judges aren't real judges - they're employees of executive branch agencies who dress up like judges to make their adminstrative decisions sound more legitimate.

That's because the ASA is an industry self-regulation body, with no legislative or enforcement powers. Ofcom are supposed to be a real regulator.

I think the role of teachers and staff is one of the key things in the reduction - they used to often be some of the main perpetrators and they set the culture.

And it cost the government £850m, almost double the estimated amount

I'm reading the report now and, to it's partial credit, it does acknowledge this!

It takes the need for new nuclear as axiomatic though, meaning that it dodges even considering the most important questions around nuclear.

Looking at the colour of the water running through that gap, it almost certain would have killed him, if had had actually attempted to swim through it.

"Russian intelligence extensively sabotaged the 2016 election to help Trump, and Trump's campaign was assisting and coordinating this with them" is the Senate report's conclusion, supported by overwhelming evidence. Unless you've defined "Russiagate" to mean something else?

Yes they do. Both CPI and CPIH (the latter being the "headline figure" quoted by the ONS) include rents.

Rent is almost 10% of the overall basket in CPI, and housing gets even more weight in CPIH (which also includes imputed rent for owner-occupied housing).

Home of the Underdogs was so good! It was a one-person project run by a woman in Thailand. She's an academic and investigative journalist now.

Andy Warhol once observed that the Coca-Cola drunk by the president and by a homeless guy are identical (and both excellent, per Warhol). Both X and Path to Exile 2 are just as dogshit to Elon and to us.

The linked article cheerfully predicts that the plot succeeding would have result in every Catholic in the country being lynched, changing the whole course of English history, because no Civil War, etc

The plan was to use the chaos after the explosion to launch a rebellion, recruiting as they went. They started doing this, announcing that the king was dead - nobody wanted to join up, and the leaders were captured. So it would have failed, but there was a plan

If anything, the reverse of this is true - the current value reflects expectations about Nvidia's future earnings, not its backwards investment.

For a "abundance" movement, these guys seem obsessed with scarcity and the value engineering of everything.

I guess they don't have much chance to practice. Pistol marksmanship is hard and takes serious amounts of training to get half-competent at!

Yes, but British people consider that to be an extremely long drive.

The Nazi nuclear programme was hopeless - poorly funded, fragmented, prone to infighting, crucial physics concepts considered "Jewish" so ignored, researchers with PhDs conscripted and sent to die on the Eastern Front, and more besides. They never stood a chance at building a bomb.
