Half of east van is without power. I feel like this is the west side hitting back after the by-election results.

This cracks me up so much.
I still really love Gritty, I love that when he was unveiled, Philadelphia was like, "What the fuck", the world replied, "Yeah, what the fuck" and then Philadelphia said, "Hey, don't you talk that way about our Gritty"
If Gritty can still fly the pride flag so can we

Niche joke that I’m here for.
Stocks are up cause of Jevons Paradox. As soon as they went down in price, everyone could afford to buy more of them.

New Year's resolution: "Don't be so precious about making everything from scratch, learn to feel ok about buying more convenient things."
Grocery store, 3 days in: "Yeah, nine bucks for salad dressing with a canola oil base? Nah. I can just whip something together in no time...".

Going back to BBS days, the mantra was always: "Don't feel the trolls".

The community would often be harder on people who engaged the trolls than the trolls themselves.

Perhaps not fair, but it was certainly an effective long-term strategy.
"Don't Engage, Just Block" is having a real effect and you can tell it's frustrating the bots, chuds and trolls. They're in my comments trying everything they can to get people there to react -- and no one's biting. And then I swing by and chuck 'em into the cornfield and that's that.
As long as we keep a culture of disengaging and blocking trolls we actually can probably keep the vibes up.
