Professionally I manage web development teams and am interested in design systems, agile processes, accessibility.
Personally, I'm interested in politics, affordability, income inequality, travel, cooking, craft beer.
I was pleased with the gov’t deciding to stay out of it. Can’t believe they reversed course so quickly. Good on the union for standing strong.

Sure Hastings-Sunrise is in the wrong place, but at least it ain’t the East Village.

Norm. Salesperson’s name was Norm. I hate salespeople most of the time, but I liked Norm.

Cube is a German brand and apparently sells more Bosch-powered e-bikes than anyone else. Been riding it for a year or so, and I’m a fan!

I went to the Cit-e-cycles in Port Moody because they have a lot of physical bikes in stock, so you can check em out and take a spin. Great salesperson, super knowledgeable and low-pressure. Expected to leave with a Gazelle, but ended up with

As a cyclist you gotta take the lane in situations like this, except if there are large gaps in parked cars. The VPD, ICBC and apparently lawyers are all lined up against you. Consistently riding within a meter of a parked car is going to get you doored.

Always good to call out strategic voting. I’m in Vancouver Kingsway, where there’s a good chance that Don Davies, and excellent MP, may be defeated. The Conservative candidate has no real chance.
I’m incredibly impressed with the NDPs ground game, and I’ll be doing what I can to help on Monday.

Ha, that’s me. I’m 6’ with a 30” inseam. Seated in a car, my upper body is the equivalent of 6’4”, but my legs are the equivalent of someone who’s 5’6”. I always figure the next person must assume I was trolling them.

I was bemoaning the presence of Bluetooth on my kids electric toothbrush, when someone pointed out that it connects to an app which gamifies the experience. He’s brushing longer and though I’m not proud of myself, I like to imagine I’m setting him up for what’s next.

I had the advantage of finding you later in your career, so I’ve always had the next novel to read. Now that I’m all caught up, thanks for continuing to be so prolific!

Having had you get into the details on my pull requests, I feel their pain. Or, if they're the one getting into the details, it may just be a genetic thing. 😉

The lack of vibes in new west is appalling. 😂

Easily my favorite quote from the article: “…they might benefit paying for things like heating city pools and other sorts of services."

ABC was incredibly good at maintaining voting discipline on council for so long. This isn't the first time discipline wasn't maintained, but I feel as though the floodgates might be opening. Time will tell.

The current situation is basically what the NDP has been waiting for my entire life, and I can't believe they're being so meh about things.

Be bold, scare the old rich people. Give the young people hope that's backed up by something that could work, rather than watching them flock to Pollievre.

I dream of a Federal NDP who would pop in at this point, and make an announcement about how ineffective these piecemeal efforts are.

Then announce their plan to take a serious swing at dealing with affordability and income inequality by imposing wealth taxes and inheritance taxes, and whatever else

I was there in March, and saw no homeless people. So let use Bluesky math and say that my personal anecdote cancels out yours and we can settle on believing Jennifer who is a subject matter expert. Fair?
