Literally none. Gameplay mechanics (are they fun, intuitive, and yet ideally also a bit novel?) and narrative will always be more important to me.

When you compare old games they were so much simpler than modern games. We made them what they were with our minds, our boundless enthusiasm. But as you get older, your ability to have that same enthusiasm for things wanes. It’s why we call it “childlike wonder”.
Gaming isn’t worse now. We just don’t have the same free time or imagination we did when we were 12.

Amen. Think a lot of modern gamers have become cynical and jaded, which affects their sense of wonder and imagination.
People always blame developers for “lack of immersion” in video games.
Part of the immersion requires your imagination to fully immerse yourself and I think a lot of modern gamers have lost that.
I was fully immersed in N64 Goldeneye and all I had was 3 pixels and a dream.

Is there anything more annoying than when a delivery company gives you an estimate time slot, changes it at short notice, you plan accordingly, then they try and deliver within the original time slot, and you’re not there anymore bc they changed it?
