Argument for *not* removing them (I don’t have a view) has always been that they should be approximately netting out, excepting those who stay for work. But first time sector has seen significant shrinkage in OS recruitment so *probably* it’s either reducing net migration figures or will be soon.

Overseas recruitment considerably higher in 2021 and 2022 than 2023 and 2024, so probably more overseas students leaving than entering this year and last.

I think right now that’d make them higher :/
