I suspect a large part of it is that fresh charcoal and stale charcoal both taste like charcoal

We stopped for a badly needed hot meal in a smaller town after a day of hiking and exploring an abbey in the rain, and 5 minutes after walking into the restaurant we were sitting by the fire being told "surely you have some Irish blood, there are several [last names] in these parts!"

Great to see Wes Chatham at the beginning, and Dr. McKay from The Pitt popping up to give the "so you're about to be inverted out in the world" briefing was a nice surprise. I continue to think Aaron Taylor-Johnson would make a fantastic Bond.

If I may, I'd like to change your life for the better in this one small, specific way: spritz your coffee beans with a bit of water before you grind them, and the static will be completely eliminated. You will have to grind single dose instead of leaving the hopper full tho.

There should also be a smoke alarm inside each bedroom, in addition to each floor of common living space. Alarms with a sealed, 10 year battery are commonplace now, so it's easy to add alarms in new places if needed.

Not to open a bag of worms here, but if you have any sources of combustion (gas stove, furnace, fireplace), do you also have a carbon monoxide alarm?
