So grateful for all your efforts! We got our SNAP thanks to how hard you guys are working. We also got two weeks of groceries from neighbors because of our community. I want that for everyone worried about food everywhere.

I live in Midland, Michigan where we are still recovering from two dams bursting from neglect five years ago.

All my husbands great-great grandfathers died in the Civil War, all of them. Piecing together the stories of those trying to rehack out an existence is enlightening. They weren’t wealthy or slave owners. In a lot of cases they were white passing natives. Anyway. MORE OF THIS! Excellent work!

I don’t have clear sources for this yet, but it seems like there was an element of the South trying to create its own aristocracy. Like they felt disenfranchised in Europe and wanted to be on top here? The tethers of that attempted system is still in place. I have more thoughts swimming about this.

This puts together something I’ve been chewing on! There is a lack of willingness to engage with reality from the get go. I’ve been researching my husbands family history and the trauma that’s inherited there. We all came to from similar parts of Europe, but my family went North and his went South.

Thank you for putting into words what my brain has been trying to stitch together! Very helpful to have better words for this.

the main point here is that it’s an international alliance of oligarchs whose main concerns are self-enrichment and territorial conquest. that’s it. trump doesn’t have to be a “kremlin plant” or “putin puppet.” he and putin have the same goals: accumulate power and wealth. it’s class solidarity!

(It’s true that there is spending that is fraudulent and wasteful. It’s also true that key government agencies have actually been underfunded since sequestration and before, and even if you find every penny of “waste, fraud and abuse” it won’t cover the shortfall.)
