That’s does NOT translate to me being an avid reader or writer. It’s more of like how I can read crochet directions but can’t watch tutorial videos. Outside of art, I am also very bad at moving my body, but everyone knew that part.

There, all my thoughts summarized and I can shut up now.

The power of stubborn pettiness is unmatched, as I eventually learned to draw organic shapes like people and flowers. I’m happy but also sad at how I would berate myself for not “getting it.”

Verbal learning is my strength, so much so that it masks my difficulties in other areas.

Eventually I stopped drawing, until I picked it up again as a young adult and went to school.
My most puzzling reflection is that I once explained how to draw in 1 or 2 pt perspective verbally, well enough for the person to make a successful box. When I try, it’s a struggle. I can barely do it.

When we had to write and illustrate our poems, I had to redraw the picture at least three times to match my “great” writing. I didn’t understand why so it made me sad.
