I like to jump from one creative project to the next, but I am currently working on finishing up a board game I've designed and hope to eventually turn into a digital game.

I've tried out the little lessons in the chess.com app which seems pretty gradual and not too overwhelming, but they limit how much you can do at once without paying :/

Yeah, but I guess I would need the patience to get good in the first place in order to have a chance at winning the fast chess lol.

Thanks! This was informative. Also, it was nice to see the description you linked.

Nice seeing the progress on this! If you ever need a playtester, feel free to reach out! I'd probably be a low learner but I'd be more than happy to give it a shot when I can find some free time.

How do you go about communicating who should avoid it - can you elaborate?

While I agree, especially during playtesting and such, it's quite easy to communicate this, but on a more broad spectrum I'm curious how this is accomplished.

I feel like it's sort of like studying for a test - if you get excited about the system of how you study and take notes, you inadvertently end up studying the material without being interested in the material.
Not sure if that makes sense at all or not lol. Anyways, best of luck! (2/2)

Yeah, I get that. I sort of do that with things as well.
Sometimes making something that requires 10x more effort than the actual thing will be what motivates me to do the said thing...

Never heard of this, but it looks quite entertaining!

I'm sure some people have a positive opinion of gamified "Todo" apps, but honestly for me, it seems like another chore in and of itself to keep up with the app, rather than a whiteboard or paper list of things to do.
I'm a huge fan of lists too.
That's just my personal take.

This looks quite fun!

I've heard good things about this game, but haven't played it yet.

I'm not used to the character limit of this platform - I tend to be a bit long winded trying to explain my thoughts. I find myself constantly struggling to fit my replies into just one post.

Why the need to write "calm down" - I thought I was simply having a pleasant interaction/conversation. Your reply without the first two words would have sufficed.

I wasn't trying to start an argument but simply sharing my thoughts - and it seems you agree. 👍

And even helps me learn things quicker through experimentation, and often is able to explain things to me I didn't even know I needed to look up.
I don't think it's an end-all, but I think it does provide a valuable resource, as long as it is used correctly and at opportune times.

For example, me, as a hobbyist creating code for a game project-I get stuck on implementing logic sometimes where I am able to use AI to help me implement it. Of course I know the code is likely very flawed, inefficient, and possibly doesn't even work - but it helps me work towards a solution (2/*)

That doesn't mean it doesn't have a place. I think like it was mentioned earlier, it's just another tool.

I don't think AI should be implemented in a lot of the ways that it currently is, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't provide a valuable tool. (1/*)
