I like to jump from one creative project to the next, but I am currently working on finishing up a board game I've designed and hope to eventually turn into a digital game.

Discord Community: https://imgur.com/a/amalgam-board-game-rules-0lTmlgR
Slowly making progress on the digital implementation of my #boardgame Amalgam. #indiedev & #gamedev is a slow process - but I am having fun learning along the way.

My friend Paweł is starting to make some animations/art to hopefully start getting rid of the placeholders.

Another update on my #indiedev progress.
Without knowing the rules, it probably just looks like a bunch of gibberish, but I promise I am making progress :)

Been working on cleaning up code mostly to make everything work together a little more as expected. Still have a lot to do, but it's starting get some more progress. (basic movement/attack/ability logic is complete minus the Void amplification for each ability) #indiedev #boardgames #gamedev #Godot

Thanks! This was informative. Also, it was nice to see the description you linked.

I have an abstract strategy #boardgame in the late stages of playtesting, available free on screentop.gg and tabletop sim -working on a standalone app.

Would love for you to check it out and/or come by and say hello on our discord server!

Working on the digital implementation of #boardgame in #Godot. I have implemented all of the movement and standard attacks as shown in the video below - now I just have to implement the abilities! :)

PS: It's a competitive abstract strategy.

Another variation idea.

Thinking something simple like this.

I have an issue that's been bothering me for a while, and I am ready to try and find a solution, but I'd like some feedback from all the 🎲✂️'s here:

🧵 #boardgames #graphicdesign
Each player has different pieces that are differentiated through colors, and each player uses WHITE or BLACK pieces...
December 18, 2024 at 12:11 AM
Ok, thanks! Also, I got some other feedback on Reddit saying the board on the right looks out of place - so I tried blowing it up and using it as a background...do you think this helps or no?

I need feedback again please! 🎲✂️ #boardgames

I am not sure if this looks too..."cartoon-y", or like I am promoting to young children?

I genuinely can't tell if I love or hate this haha.

I need honest feedback if I need to trash this concept/style or not...please help 😅!

I also added the bottom part of the section shown in the image - I hope it makes things more clear rather than less???

🎲✂️ Been looking at this for far too long, I need an extra set of eyes:

Old: Standard abilities on top half of page, and amplified on bottom half.

New: Standard abilities on left half, and amplified on the right.

Does the new one look better, or am I better off with the old one?

🎲✂️ Just had a impromptu play-test that went really well! :D

It's such a great feeling when you can tell someone is genuinely enjoying your game and wants to keep playing. 🥹

For those of you who are unaware, put this stuff (chili oil) on literally almost anything and it will taste better 🤣. #food

🎲✂️ Adapted my sell sheet to be used as the "Overview" of the rules document - and honestly I am wondering if this alone would be enough enough as a sell sheet. Any feedback on this design? I am pretty happy with it, but it feels...off. I don't know if it's missing something or its the layout.
December 4, 2024 at 3:09 AM
🎲✂️I started out with the version above and below, which I like - but due to reworking & adding some information I found it to be a tight fit and switched to the Left/Right format. Does the left and right format make it hard to follow the fact that all of the subsections belong to the major category?

🎲✂️. What's everyone's views/opinions/experiences with fabric game "boards".

I ordered this "tablecloth" a while ago to be used as a playtest board, haven't really had the chance to use it yet, but was wondering why they aren't used more in published games. Does it come down to the price? (1/2)

Due to play-testing, I've been thinking about changing Amalgam's Board layout. Here is the current layout and the potential new layout.

Alright, thanks to everyone's suggestions I think I may have come up with a better version!

Ok, good to know! And yeah, being an abstract game with a decent amount of nuanced rules - I am not sure how in depth I should be going. Maybe I can add short descriptions of each piece, sort of like I do here? Sorry - I have no clue what direction I should be taking with this 🤣(1/2)

My attempt at a "sell sheet"...any critiques?

🎲✂️Trying to clean up my rules/make them more understandable. Does this make sense?

I hate how much extra text I had to add (the whole bottom section defining intersections) but I think it was causing confusion before. Any ideas to make this more condensed or understandable?

A 2 Player #Mahjong Variant I made. The key distinguishing principle is the way you discard tiles, which helps to better simulate 4 player Mahjong, as well as also adding additional defensive/offensive stragies (you can score/negate scores based off your discards)

Essentially, the Ruby is able to use the nexus to extend its movement. The Nexus is formed when a Pearl and Amber are adjacent to each other. Nexus movement extends the valid movement intersections of both the Pearl and Amber, and allows the Ruby to move to those intersections as well.
