Always remember this picture from the year end Autocar review of the 1981 season (which 11 year old me read cover to cover 18,000 times before the start of the 82 season). You never see pictures like this any longer. Everyone's too guarded.

I think it's a substitute while dirty air and similar performance reduces overtakes. You are right so. There have been so many cases where a battle was starting on track only for one car to pit.

I see the #LasVegasGP starts two hours earlier this year at 8 pm local time. A more sensible time, but it removes the chance of running into Sunday (with a red flag or delay) as could have happened last year at 10 pm. That would have been the first two-day GP since the 1913 French GP.

Though I maybe only ever watched one or two episodes, I remember the series Thirtysomething from the 1980's. Now they'd be Seventysomething.
I hereby declare an immediate moratorium on posts about how that album you like came out when you were 13 and I was in my mid-thirties. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

This is really annoying me

#Formula1 isn't just about overtaking anyway. Some of the most memorable races are where the winner was chased down but managed to stay ahead and win anyway; Austria 82, Adelaide 90, Estoril 86, Paul Ricard 85, Monaco 92. Lets stop pandering to the Netflix fans and their 12 second attention span

It's called "Motor Racing" it's not called "How fast can 22 men change 4 wheels on a car"

We don't want mandatory two-stop races. I want no-stop races because racing should be decided on track, not by strategy alone. More pit stops won’t increase overtaking; drivers will just wait for undercuts instead of racing properly on the road. #FFS #F1

Gary Anderson: Two-stops won't fix F1 overtaking woes - but this might
Forcing teams into two-stop strategies is the latest idea being discussed to make F1 races more exciting and increase overtaking. But there are far better ways to achieve this, Gary Anderson argues

Really impressed so far though my system is huffing and puffing to run it.
Just a month after it was announced with a surprise reveal, Assetto Corsa Rally is now available via Steam Early Access with 4 laser-scanned stages, 10 iconic rally cars, dynamic conditions and a 20% discount on the launch price...

The boss of Ferrari shouldn't be named John Elkann. It's just not right.

Like what was he supposed to do? There was nowhere for him to go. What nonsense.
RE: Piastri penalty - FIA stewards say Piastri's front axle was not alongside the mirror of Antonelli, as defined in the Driving Standard Guidelines, for overtaking on the inside of a corner. They also say his lockup was the main cause of the collision. #F1 #BrazilGP

If Piastri hadn't got the penalty, for I don't know what, Verstappen would have been 4th whoopdedo.
November 9, 2025 at 8:00 PM
Verstappen gained due to that cheap pit stop under the safety car. That gave him an advantage as everyone else was still on their original tyres. That's why he made up so many places after the safety car. I didn't see anything special.

I still don't understand why teams can't have a spare car ready in case a driver has a big accident. Most stupid rule ever.

I think it was interlagos turn 4 in 2003 where a handful of cars crashed in the same place. Schumacher being one of them

I actually enjoy red flags. It's the only time during a race you get to see the expressions and emotions on a drivers face

Though I'm against sprint races, if we are going to have them then make them a bit longer or have 2 short races to make it worthwhile tuning in for.

So infuriating losing one's phone in one's bed. Who do we blame though? The bed manufacturers, the phone manufacturers or the bed linen manufacturers. Somebody needs to be accountable.

Since watching Deliver Me From Nowhere I now have an invigorated appreciation for the Nebraska album. I've always liked most of the songs on the record but maybe didn't listen to it as often as other #Springsteen disks for the almost four decades I've had it. Now I can't stop listening to it.

I wanted to go and see Deliver Me From Nowhere again last night but sadly it's already been pulled from the movie house. It would have become only the second movie I've seen twice at the cinema after The Empire Strikes Back which I saw twice in 1980.
