The town of Mamaroneck, NY sent out this flyer about their community Hanukkah candle lighting event this week.

So today I called the town administrator and asked what security precautions were in place for the event.

Driving a Tesla is a rolling endorsement. It says you are comfortable funding a man who buys elections and promotes fascism on the world stage.
People have such short-term memory. I'm pretty sure I am seeing more and more Teslas around our area the past few weeks.

Is this a bug in Claude that's causing it to display this <thinking> block after my prompt? Or is this intentional? I really can't tell.

I just saw Edgar Wright's new adaptation of the Richard Bachman (Stephen King) novel The Running Man.

If you like action movies, do yourself a favor and see this one on the big screen. Fantastic.

I wish US automakers would stop playing games with discounts. It just makes depreciation seem worse than it actually is (because it's calculated from MSRP) and makes people hesitant to buy because you never know when a better discount is coming.

Perfect timing for this story to drop on the same day Amazon lays off 30,000 workers due to claims of AI efficiencies.

If companies have less work for people to do, they don’t give you Fridays off, they lay off people until everyone has a full workweek.

If you have influence at a company or organization that relies on Python, please consider wielding that influence to advocate for helping Kenneth Reitz through a tough time. From my vantage point, his contributions to the Python community have been foundational.

My bank account is currently sitting at $10.28. If anyone wants to help, you can send money on Venmo, CashApp, or Stripe: - Venmo: https://lnkd.in/evdNzraS - CashApp: https://lnkd.in/epqinYTw - Stripe: https://lnkd.in/eypTxrdB I’m tremendously thankful for all the help that the Python community has sent already. It has helped us function quite a lot. I’m unable to work, currently, and have applied for federal disability because of my mental illness. The approval process takes a while, so any money sent is going to help our family of five function in the meantime. Okay, thanks for listening. Thanks so much.

I've been pondering my next ebike, vacillating between cargo and mountain.

I think I've figured it out: I'm thinking I'll go for a cargo ebike and also a conventional mountain bike.
