Same with MMW and to a lesser degree, Scofield; Sco's fingerprints are all over the playing of big name jam guitarists like Compa, Mitarotonda, et al. Also, his stuff with MMW and Gov't Mule put his name in every jam fans mind.

MMW are legends of the NY jazz scene; defo became more lumped in with jam bands when John Scofield started collaborating with them but their sound can't really be pinned down. Brilliant players too :^)
