how do you end a song perfectly live that Steve Gadd himself played originally while adding your own flavours?

get a time machine, become Keith Carlock, and go on tour with Steely Dan. the paradiddles are precise, the groove is deep, and the song is classic.

what have you been listening to this week? lots of spacey guitars and funky rhythms over here. Really digging dave weckl's tight, textural drum grooves 🎶
many new tracks added to the flavours #nowplaying on spotify.

lil tip: grocery stores often play really tasty jazz fusion in the morning when the elderly shop... that's how i found this monster jazz/funk fusion track with tight, fat, deeeep pocketed grooving throughout... bass and sax are 👌

track id: "tower of inspiration" - dave weckl - "master plan" [1990]

this song embodies the afterglow of LSD to me... somewhat nervous and spooky, but blissfully atmospheric and ethereal. the textures of herbie's synth and shorter's otherworldly soprano sax escort each other out of this world.

track id: bubbles - herbie hancock, from "man child" #jazz #fusion #psych

bluesky's video uploading is a bit dodgy but i'm happy to be here :)

monobody's 2018 effort "raytracing" effortlessly vascilates between tappy, emotive math rock, post-hardcore and jazz fusion with agility and grace, ever pushing their soundscapes in an intentional, fully realized direction. no boring moments on the record.

morning meditation. ethereal, blissful stuff- a sonic blanket to envelop yourself in. best served coming down from psilocybin with some guava juice, a joint and the sunrise. an old favourite.

track id: clouds - sanjay mishra and jerry garcia (1994)

90's/early 2000's racing game music is such a strong aural aesthetic... drum'n'bass, funk, fusion- often in that specific flavour only the japanese can deliver. ethereal, grandiose, and consistently tasty.

track: c1 warriors by noriko matsueda & takahito eguchi
