Picture oneself in this man’s situation. It’s a « I am Spartacus » moment.
50 ICE agents swarming a public library to arrest one person.

This isn’t policing — it’s authoritarian spectacle.
Armed intimidation, fear as policy, and taxpayer money burned to terrorize communities.

This is fascism in plain sight. #TrumpWatch #Resist

The Trump Admin has repeatedly demonstrated to allies around the globe that US security guarantees mean nothing as long as Trump is president. He won’t even agree to abide by the NATO charter, so how can he be trusted to honor any Ukraine deal.

It’s trending now because it covers an interesting and important, but generally overlooked, topic. What alternatives to these reactionary futures can be imagined?

I hope people understand that if Trump gets his way America will soon be part of the global axis of evil if we aren't already. You see it in the Caribbean, you see it in Ukraine, and you see it with Trump trying to buddy up to Xi. We are a malevolent force.

Like I've said before, if you have any doubts about climate change, just go to a super-boring insurance conference and listen to the super-boring panels where they dryly talk about the growing threat of disasters so catastrophic and unpredictable in scope they simply cannot be insured at any price.
Wild how the Fed chair saying that *entire regions of the United States* won’t be able to get a mortgage in the next decade barely registered as a news event

By using AI without constraints, we would be feeding the growth of a system that will speed climate warming, make most humans uneccessary, and widen the gap between billionaire tecnocrats/oligarchs and the vast majority of everyone else.

This is an imprtant topic I would want candidates for U.S. Senate and House seats to take seriously.

If accepted, this deal would be a disaster for Ukraine and a threat to NATO members in Europe. What modifications would make it worthy of being accepted? Europeans must be involved in the negotiations. open.substack.com/pub/heatherc...

The whole Third Term Project isn’t actually about Trump. The people behind it know he will likely be dead or enfeebled by 2029. It is about them, the vastly unpopular group around Trump, wanting to grift us forever without elections.

Seems to me the Republican leadership is just demonstrating their awareness that, in this authoritarian regime, Congress is irrelevant.
It's official - the House will be out AGAIN next week, for a sixth consecutive week. That means the House will have worked 20 days over 17 weeks. The last House vote was on Sept. 19.

To have this simply be demolished is heartbreaking. Surely there many thousands of Republicans who would also feel aghast and heartbroken. If you are one, please speak out, loudly.

This ballroom is just such a terrible idea. And demolishing part of the East Wing wing to make it happen only worsens the idea. Yuck!
The National Trust for Historic Preservation warned that President Trump’s planned 90,000-square-foot ballroom would “overwhelm the White House itself,” which spans just 55,000 square feet. https://wapo.st/4hmL8rC
