@metrolosangeles.bsky.social - hi, did you guys ever retime the 234 to account for bus lane time savings? Was just on a southbound bus that had to *crawl* down Sepulveda - as in 5mph, waiting at stops for a full min - because it was like 8 min ahead of timepoint. Seems bad for customers & for budget

Look, it's how I'm finally gonna get my friends to come to CicLAvia with me so I can't complain
CicLAvia announced today that Netflix is doing a full buyout of the 11/23 event, which will be Stranger Things-themed: "For one day only, the street will be reimagined as Hawkins itself, where the familiar collides with the mysteries of the Upside Down and fans come together for one last adventure"
Netflix x CicLAvia—Melrose Ave: Stranger Things 5 One Last Ride
Join CicLAvia on Sunday, November 23 from 9 am - 3 pm for a FREE community event. Come walk, run, bike, skate, and chill along open streets. All ages and abilities are welcome!

Little thread of my notes on LA's first draft SB 79 map

@metrolosangeles.bsky.social how does this happen
September 16, 2025 at 4:45 AM
@metrolosangeles.bsky.social is there a reason why the G Line just forgets to start its trips like 50% of the time by the way

@metrolosangeles.bsky.social a question because I'm bored. Would it be possible to run 3-car service on the C/K Lines and only open the middle 8 doors at the 2-car stations (Imperial, Mariposa, Douglas, Redondo)? Similar to how only some doors open at Long Beach? Please excuse my low quality sketch.

Finally got the chance to look at the amendments. The planned stop stuff is really bad, I don't think "we can build housing around train stops that won't be operational for 12 years" is a good tradeoff for "we won't get to build housing near most future train stops that aren't identified by Jan 1"
Amendments to SB 79 will be published on Tuesday. This is what I'm hearing:

1) Tier 3 stops (most Metrolink + less-urban areas) have been removed

2) Local government opt-outs around fire zones + historic

3) Clarified language around planned stops
[BILL ALERT] SB 79, which broadly legalizes more homes near high quality transit stops, has passed the Assembly appropriations committee!

The bill now goes to the Assembly floor, then back to the Senate for concurrence.

@metrolosangeles.bsky.social have been thinking about this recently. i know the 10 min service got delayed - i think due to HR4000s taking a while to arrive? and was wondering if 10/10 service is in the plans once the D Line reopens. seems there'd be enough 4000s now?

hey asked staff about this. answer: yes, still could happen but not quite there yet.

long story short: nextgen called for us replacing Line 92 owl with other service - -but ridership stayed high on 92 and we kept owl. So looking for resources to add owl on 94.

sidewalks under 15 feet are actually a major accessibility issue for people like me who walk fast and are a little shy because passing people walking too slow can be kinda awkward :(

In Fred Rosen's latest screed of nonsense against the Sepulveda Line he comes out on attack against a bizarre target: women with hyphenated names? You tell 'em, Fred!

@metrolosangeles.bsky.social noticing that www.metro.net/riding/guide... still doesn't have LAX/MTC maps posted - simple oversight? or waiting for june shakeup maps to be finalized maybe?
