Nope. California receives the highest dollar amount of SNAP benefits, but California is also the largest state by population. If you look at percentage of population on SNAP or SNAP benefits per capita, New Mexico is #1. www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/...

Straight from The Great Gatsby: “They were careless people, Tom and Daisy- they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made.”

Yes! I had first cousins I called Aunt and Uncle. My mom was the youngest of 10 children, with 7 surviving to adulthood. I was the youngest of 4. And there were some pretty big age gaps between siblings in some cases. So I had first cousins who were around the same age as my mom.

Not how it works. Oregon will request en banc review - new hearing by all active 9th Circuit judges. Subset of 3 9th Circuit judges that rendered today's decision does not decide if en banc is granted. Full 9th Circuit does. En banc review fairly rare, but 9th is still majority Dem appointees.

Per linked abstract, first-ever study in humans of this novel gene therapy. Still enrolling. Goal is N=30. So primary purpose is to establish safety. More details available at clinicaltrials dot gov link in abstract. Quite a ways to go before we'll see a phase 3 trial enrolling 100s to 1000s.

My dentist is conveniently located next door to a doughnut shop. It's the only one in town that sells my favorite lemon-filled glazed.

I think these are resale prices. A lot of the shows sold out within minutes (original sales prices). That's why I ended up buying Austin tix. Everything closer to me was sold out, and I knew resale prices would be ouchy.

Which venue? Sales price or resale? I paid $45 sales price for Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin - general admission tix to the 3/29/26 show.

I'm a grant development specialist. One of my colleagues saw an application withdrawn because ... I kid you not ... it included a support letter from a foreign scientist. Not a co-I, not a consultant, not slated to work on the proposed project in any manner, paid or unpaid. Just a support letter.

What elite schools should want to avoid is Columbia's fate. They caved, but the financial bullying remains in force and is in fact escalating. That's how Tr*mp operates. And this is not breaking news. He's never been inclined to honor agreements. Anyone who thinks "this time is different" is a fool.

I'm at the biomedical campus of a 3-campus system. In theory, each campus is autonomous. In reality, we are more autocephalous. We hire our own president. But the office of legal counsel is controlled by BoT. 2/2

True for the elite private universities getting all the attention. There are also public universities out here drowning (raises hand). In my case, we are a blue dot in a blood red state. BoT nominations have to be confirmed by state senate. Governor is ex-officio BoT member. 1/2
