When Grandma disappears, ten-year-old Alex goes searching and stumbles into a new world, one that is a dangerous magical reflection of her own. Giant talking chickens, hungry night creatures, a tyrannical rooster, and a dark witch wait for her on the other side.
A lovely book about identity and one's place in the world. There is a depth of applaudably organic worldbuilding and very genuine and heartfelt character interactions and dynamics.
A profoundly human story.

Has clear and heavy Berserk inspiration but also a strong identity of its own. The characters, art style, world, action - everything is just🔥

I have had no battery for a WHILE now and feel a little scummy for doing this after being absent so long, buuuut
I have TWO Halloween-themed books out! One is a brisk, whimsical novella, and the other is a deeply emotional adventure featuring magic and chickens

Why not try a queer horror comedy that doesn't skimp on any of the three?
A cryptid-hunting skeptic follows a (fake?) video of his presumed-dead mom to a former conversion camp on an isolated island, all while fleeing the "straight" co-host he drunkenly made out with.

Movie: I'm a big fan of the Wolf Creek movies (tho 1 and 2 feel very different, not in a bad way), and thought the show was just okay.
Show: All of us Are Dead is one of the best pieces of zombie media I've ever seen.

A certain devious shapeshifting fox plays a few tricks on the flock. He knows how to get under their skin and divert attention where he needs it.
As for treats, the gang enjoys a tea break partway through the journey.

Alex would go as Alice from Alice in Wonderland! If you plan on reading Fowl Blade, remember this. Little Easter Egg.

The general of the dark witch's army is Martin of the Spurs, The Dawn Shredder. "He who shouts down the sun. His cry is the call of the night creatures, and each night when he summons them, they come to take what is ours."
