The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

the reason why video game genre notation is debated endlessly is because it is the most accessible possible argument to have: you don't have to know anything, there are basically zero stakes to it, it's entirely a vibes-based position. Accordingly, it is also the most annoying argument.

Fighting games ALWAYS have to have some internal resistance to doing the “best” thing all the time to work well beyond a surface level, beyond the external resistance of “your opponent is a human who is trying to beat you”. Otherwise, you end up with a game where the same shit happens all the time
