I was 5 when FotR came out, and I was just remembering that the first time I saw it, I got so overexcited reenacting a scene that I punched myself in the face and gave myself a bloody nose. Happy to say my enthusiasm for Tolkien hasn’t diminished even a little bit since then lol

Well now I feel very dramatic
I’m feeling really bummed out bc of the tiktok ban today. The community we built there helped me through some of my worst times and now it’s just gone. Bsky is all I’m using now, so I’m grateful for how supportive the trop/tolkien community is on here and I’m so happy to be a part of it ❤️

When I first read the Silmarillion I couldn’t keep a lot of the house of Finwë names straight so I’d just refer to them as “fin…something” Fingon, Finrod, and Fingolfin ended up being my favs so I thought it was a fitting username 🤷🏻♀️

I love trees and LotR/Tolkien more than most things in life, and so it just came to me. If you know me from Twt, I was always posting trees, and sometimes singing in forests. Leafling because I am hobbit-sized. 🌿🍂

The Silmarillion:
Imo Beren and Lúthien is the most easily adaptable Tolkien story and they’d be crazy not to do it if they’re able to get the rights. It’s so solid on it’s own and doesn’t require as much context as stories like the fall of Gondolin or children of Húrin would (as much as I would love to see those)
There are ideas being considered for a new “epic” film trilogy in the ‘LORD OF THE RINGS’ franchise.

Imagine being a Tolkien fan and not wanting to build upon a minor detail or changing a narration perspective. Some of them have never unhealthy fixated on random Silmarillion elf that is mentioned only once and it shows!
