They are doing pretty okay. They’re coming over for the holiday tomorrow, but we ordered a premade meal and I only have to heat it up. This year, we’re definitely not up to cooking from scratch.

I got to log off early today and I went and visited my parents, and I was actually nice to them, I promise! Then I took Higgins on an extra-long walk to kick off the holiday weekend. I’m making up for being stressed-out and bitchy all week!

In my defense, I have been making big batches of soups and beans and giving frozen vacuum-sealed meals to my parents, and they’ve been enjoying it! Mom can’t cook anymore, and Dad only knows how to make a handful of meals, so this is one small way I can help.

For the third time in less than one calendar year, I have scammed my parents out of a new appliance. This time it’s a vacuum food sealer, which I have been talking about as a potential Christmas present, and a very fancy version went on sale. I’ll be getting my Christmas present in June this year.
I’VE DONE IT AGAIN! This time, I scammed my parents out of a brand new paper shredder. There were too many choices; I was overwhelmed. So I asked Dad to do the research for me. He found the perfect shredder and ordered it and sent me home with it today, over a month before my birthday!
