Of all the things related to immigration I have been asked to comment on, this by @lgeraghty23.bsky.social for the @bigissue.com was a strange, but fun, one.

How is this even a debate? Of course Superman is an immigrant. He is the very definition of one.

Superman has always been an immigrant
The new Superman film has caused controversy after James Gunn called it the story of ‘an immigrant’. The character has always been this way.

Widespread & systematic conflict-related sexual violence by the #Myanmar military junta—rooted in patriarchy and impunity—has long been documented by Women’s League of Burma.

Despite the risks, women continue to demand justice.

Today marks 4yrs since #ASEAN & Min Aung Hlaing agreed to Five Point Consensus, a peace plan that has failed to stop the junta’s violence.

Enabling the junta as it bombs civilians is a moral outrage that should shame ASEAN to its core, especially as it claims to champion peace. 👉🏽 buff.ly/155uloj

The Myanmar junta is permitting private security companies to hold arms for the first time, as long as they register with NDSC.

This is a step change in privatised militarisation, likely impacting Chinese presence in the county especially.
