I don't love putting this on people's TL but they are trying REALLY hard to turn my city into an example. Every sneering mention of Portland is meant to entice someone to go off the deep end and commit some atrocity, so they can justify military occupation. They're trying to kettle an entire city

I'm honestly terrified of what the right will use this as justification for. They're itching to engage in violence against their enemies and this will give them the excuse to do so. This is why political violence is never acceptable. It just descends into uncontrollable chaos and more violence.
