My book club has chosen Jane Eyre next (which I requested) as this beautiful copy has been sitting untouched on my shelf for too long.

Excited to dive into this classic ❤️

Middle school sucks 🙂

Heaven by Mieko Kawakami captured that feeling well.

I enjoyed the experience from the safety of my adulthood, and found myself thinking of how my child will navigate this time in their own life.

This is my second Kawakami read, I loved each one.

🤯 This blew my mind. What Susanna Cahalan experienced was terrifying. Brain on Fire is well worth the read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Going from a hard-working, witty professional to experiencing psychosis and being unable to communicate with the outside world could happen to any of us.

A haunting story.

This book was ✨️fine✨️

Thanks to my library and Libby I listened to Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom.

Morrie was lovable, and I can see why this touched so many people at the time of being published.

For me, this felt pretty basic. Nothing new or groundbreaking.

Witch, please 🌙 🐈‍⬛️

In Defense of Witches by Mona Chollet was a thought provoking, angering read.

Chollet used a feminist lense to analyze witches and womanhood, and how the two have evolved over the centuries.

It was harrowing, and well worth the read.

5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Finished listening to Exit Interview by Kristi Coulter recently. I found Coulter to be relatable and resonated with her writing, particularly as a woman working for a large corporation climbing the ladder one rung at a time.

Would recommend! 💖

Rented Becoming by Michelle Obama through my library on the platform Libby. I really enjoyed hearing Michelle narrate this book and thought it was wonderful and insightful. Moved me to tears.

Just finished Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata.

4.5/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I enjoyed this quirky little book. I added it to my TBR & saw it on display at my local library and am glad I picked it up!

This book helps demonstrate that there's no such thing as unskilled labor. 💖

Finished up A Little Life. This book was heartbreaking and beautiful and heartbreaking again, as life is.

It was devastating and touching and wonderful. I'm glad to have experienced it.

Just finished listening to The Woman in Me by Britney Spears. I enjoyed hearing her tell her story and I am so glad she is free from that predatory conservatorship. The way she was forced to exist would be soul crushing for anyone.

Wishing her all the best. 💕

Just finished listening to If You Cant Take the Heat by Geraldine DeRuiter

3.25 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was funny yet cringe. I enjoyed some of her anecdotes and it was mostly pleasant to listen to. She did start to annoy me though.

I give it a "yeah, it was fine."

Starting A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. I hear this book makes you cry and I am a fan of crying at books instead of real life.

Off we go ✨️

Just finished Give Her Credit by Grace L. Williams.

Sadly I did not enjoy it. The subject matter is interesting and it's wild to think of the financial barriers women faced in recent history.

But the writing... 😭 This book should've been 50 pages, not 200.
