But to reiterate(!) I'll be there to buy a ticket. Overall, I like Blumhouse quite a lot (I'm a big fan of Freaky, Happy Death Day, the H Trilogy, and M3gan), so I'll give it a chance. Can't help but feel it'll be DOA though 😬

It just seems like an old Bravo TV clip show of possession horrors cobbled together. Inverted crucifixes, scarred flesh, hoarse demon voices, etc etc etc etc

Nor should they replicate it, I guess. If DGG has an interesting reason to resurrect the series, something that reflects modern ideas and modern problems, then I'm all for it. Even more so if it's a huge swing for the fences (ala Halloween Ends). But the trailer really doesn't sell any of that to me

It's a cold and sombre drama that explores what it means to have faith, what it means to be a parent, and (for me anyway) it explores the idea of grappling with your place in life. It really takes its time to wade through these themes, and I just do not believe a studio in 2023 will replicate that.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be there opening weekend to judge it on its own merit, but after rewatching the original, I'm just like... this kind of film doesn't exist anymore. Can it exist in the studio system?

Scream V and VI were solid, far more so than any fan expected, I think. We've had legacy sequels, prequels, requels, etc - let's get to that bonkers era of franchise horror where it's a huge swing for the fences ala Halloween Ends. It's the 7th film, after all.

In light of yet another controversy, I'd say again, Elon Musk is a disgusting human being. Having that line in Trek is bizarre.
