It's mad we're getting a new Exorcist sequel (er, Trilogy) next week, and I feel like no one is talking about it?? I was a huge fan of Blumhouse's outrageous Splatter-Myers trilogy, but I can't think of any material unsuited to them more than Friedkin's Exorcist.

Seated! I love these films, and the reviews for this one are surprisingly excellent. Excited for some Shakespearian Tobin Bell and some eyeball-sucking traps. 🪤⛓️🪚👁

I was scrolling the news on X and came across an image so haunting I'm legit feeling quite panicky. Seemed like a bot account and was pornagraphic content. I just dunno man. Why are people like this. Jesus fucking Christ.

I wish there was more buzz here, but beyond a few posters regularly posting BSky is kinda dead, no? 😬

Posters for The Exorcist: Believer, The Creator, Saw X, and Thanksgiving in the cinema today, too. Not the most original fare, but I'm excited for all of 'em, pretty much.

A Haunting in Venice is fine. Some spooky fun to be had, but mostly a tried and tested formula rigidly adhered to. Branagh is having a laaaaaugh as Poirot.

Pay day tomorrow. I must own this.

Talk to Me fucked me up. Goddamn.

I'm hoping to squeeze in a showing of Talk to Me today after a hike. High hopes for this one. I've heard a particular scene is TERRIFYING.

Sold out screening of Oppenheimer in a beautiful little single screen village cinema in Belgium last night. Great crowd, great projection. Took a while to get in, as it only had a single staff member manning the tickets and concessions, but what a treat.

Excited about Christopher Landon helming Scream VII. The first Happy Death Day and Freaky are terrific fun, I've lost count of how many times I've watched both. It'd be nice to see the series return to the slightly creepier tone of Craven's first two entries, but I trust Landon to deliver.

Sometimes, I think about "Greats" line in Star Trek Discovery season one, from about 2018, name dropping Elon Musk as one of histories great innovators. I'm rewatching it now and the line is so fucking ridiculous. Very bad look.

Finally caught an episode of Bad Sisters, which wasn't for me at all, unfortunately, but it looks gorgeous and Sharon Horgan, what a star.

Castle Rock, a Hulu show some might not even remember, landed with a bit of wet fart in season one. Finally getting around to season two, and it's very, very good. Lizzie Caplan is a terrific Annie Wilkes, and the tone is considerably pulpier, much closer to King's work.

I'm a big DGG Halloween apologist. In fact I think Ends is the best Halloween since H3. But this Exorcist Believer trailer is doing nothing for me. I'll be there opening weekend, but it doesn't look any different than the million Possession movies we've had in the last 10 years.

I'm a sucker TV sci-fi (Star Trek TNG, DS9, Battlestar Galactica, etc), and I see the show Babylon 5 is getting a big Blu release. I've never seen it.

Worth a watch, anyone recommend?

I just read that conservative groups are buying up entire auditoriums in cinemas all across America for Sound of Freedom and then donating tickets to right-wingers. These fuckers, like. They've every trick in the book. 😅 Explains the $65 million gross.

Been looking into Modular Homes in Ireland, and it's wild how inconsistent the information is. Plenty of testimonials from home owners, lots of info re: ber ratings, build cost, warranty, etc. But then there are articles there with headlines like MODULAR HOME WARNINGS ⚠️

A treat before wisdom tooth removal

Criterion Sale orders have arrived at home, apparently, and I've tomorrow off for wisdom teeth removal. Perfect timing for a couch day.

Great fun! Very much a Part One, which I'm not mad about, but it has plenty of Cruise charm, a terrific supporting cast, and some great action. Obvious at this point, but McQuarrie & Cruise are a match made I'm heaven.
Off to Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning - Part One. I am very, very excited.
