34. Dublin.

Lover of exploding heads, Hannibal, Physical Media, Transformers, Puppet Master movies, and cooking the odd meal.
Seated! I love these films, and the reviews for this one are surprisingly excellent. Excited for some Shakespearian Tobin Bell and some eyeball-sucking traps. 🪤⛓️🪚👁

Lads, THE PRICES ON LPs. Went into Tower Records & Golden Discs for a copy of Rosalia's Motomami, and it's €39.99. Browsed a few more. Harvest Moon is €50. Ride the Lightning is €55(!)

Spending the day in A&E (I'm fine, just stomach scans), but I finally got to do the 70s movie cop thing of having €1 coffee squirted into a paper cup, and promptly grimacing with each sip

I finished Rosalia's Motomami today, and as a whole, it's a 10/10 album. So many bangers, and the track G3 N15 is gorgeous. I'm a big fan now.

Internet Archive has a copy of Frederick Wiseman's film, Welfare. French subs, and it's not amazing quality, but it's hard to find if you don't have Kanopy, so just an FYI if you've been looking.

Couldn't go nuts on the B&N Criterion sale, but delighted I could snag these three, especially as the BFI release of Targets is delayed again.

Minding this gal for the weekend. She was out of sorts this morning when her owners left, but she's settled. She's a great movie watching pal, as she watches the screen, and even sighs at the bad parts!

Aussie Hemsworth chilling with chickens watching reality TV - "Fuckin' right."

This rocketed to the top of my films of 2023 list. Sits alongside Avengement, Dredd, and Upgrade as one of the best action movies I've seen in years.

I'll probably watch it again tomorrow.

I'm not up to speed on the Twitter/Bluesky craic, so I'll keep posting as usual until the apps shit the bed.

Anyway, 2 for £12 arrived! TTI really should have a 4K by now.

Not in the set, but for whatever reason I always got RJ and A Boy and His Dog mixed up. Some colour palette video art I guess, and the whole apocalyptic thing.

Cracking into the Arrow Empire International Pictures set. Gonna start with Stuart Gordon's Robot Jox! A film whose art I remember vividly from the video store days, but never rented for whatever reason.

Apparently the new HMV won't be stocking films, which is a big disappointment. Surely they sell better than mugs & shirts? Anyway, spent the money I would've spent there on Andrew Davis' Chicago-Roundhouse-Actioner, Code of Silence from 88 Films.

Dredd has always been my favourite. Particularly when he drove over St. Stephen's Green.
